The main library and the Beverly Farms branch will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016 for the Labor Day holiday. Additionally, the main library will be closed on Saturday, September 3. The main library is closed on Sundays, and the Farms branch is closed on Saturdays, until early October.

Riley ROCKS! Endowment Fund
On July 20, 2016, 9 year old Riley Fessenden of Beverly, MA lost a 3-year battle with a rare form of cancer. With
Riley ROCKS, this courageous young lady created a movement of love, caring, and support with thousands of people in her hometown, beginning when she was first diagnosed at the age of 6. Join the
New England Mobile Book Fair in their effort to create the Riley ROCKS Endowment for the purchase of children's books at the Beverly Public Library. We hope you'll

Weekend Hours Expand in October
Expanded weekend hours at both library locations will resume the first weekend of October. Sunday hours at the main library (1 - 5 PM) will resume on Sunday, October 2, and Saturday hours at the Beverly Farms branch (10 AM - 5 PM) will resume on Saturday, October 1. The Farms branch is always closed on Sunday. Expanded weekend hours will continue until Memorial Day 2017. Additionally, both library locations will be closed on Monday, October 10, 2016 for the Columbus Day holiday.

Got Ancestors? Fall Genealogy Series
Starts Saturday, September 17, 3 - 4:30 PM
Subsequent programs: Sundays, 2 - 3:30 PM
Join us on weekends this fall for a 6-part series on researching your family history, including online resources, and specific ancestral groups and regions. The first program on September 17
will cover some basics of getting started on research, including what resources the Beverly Library has to offer!

Mark Saturday, October 22 on your calendar! That’s the first day of our 9-day Annual Friends' Fall Book Sale. The sale runs through Sunday, October 30, and is open daily during
regular library hours. Get prices, info on donating, and all other details
here. Come stock up on your reading for the long winter ahead. All sale proceeds benefit the library!

Friends' Fall Book Sale Preview
Members of the Friends are invited to a preview of the annual Friends’ Fall Book Sale on Friday, October 21 from 6 - 8 PM. Not yet a member of the Friends? You can join (or renew!) at the door. 'Monday Mornings' Begins September 12
“Monday Mornings," a lecture series for senior adults, runs between September and May at our 32 Essex Street location. Programs run from 9:30 to 10:30 AM (light refreshments start at 9 AM). Join us for the first program of the season,

Topsfield Fair Prize Packets must be picked up by Saturday, September 10, 2016. They will not be available after this date!

College Essay Workshop
Monday, Sept. 26, 7:00 PM — 8:15 PM
Learn how to rise above an average or even bad college admissions essay! This workshop will show you what admissions officers
really look for in great college essays, and offer suggestions for finding and sharing your best stories. Primarily targeted at high school seniors and their parents, but open to all interested parties. Presented by Collegewise.

Registration required. Learn the basics of working with the library's MakerBot 3D printer, and simple download and design using free design software. The workshop is required if you wish to use the 3D printer independently. Previous experience not needed. Open to age 10 +. Laptops/devices welcome.

"The Alphabet Series" by Sheila Boss-Concannon
Sohier Room, September 3 - 29
Mixed media collage featuring 19 letters of the alphabet, by Beverly resident Sheila Boss-Concannon. A graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art, Sheila is a teacher of middle school art in the Hamilton-Wenham system. Her exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours, when library programs or community meetings are not in progress.
