Third Annual Women's Clothing Swap: May 12!

 

Goodwill is pleased to partner with the Portsmouth Public Library & Strawbery Banke Museum for the third annual
The swap will be held Saturday, May 12, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Portsmouth Public Library.  

  

As part of the event, the first 250 swap attendees will receive 2:1 coupons to attend the new exhibit at Strawbery Banke Museum, Thread: Stories of Fashion at Strawbery Banke,1740-2012. There will also be a raffle for two tickets to the Passion for Fashion Gala on June 30. The event features a celebrity designer's runway show and champagne reception.

Ever wonder how Goodwill is having an impact on our local community? Check out the web feature, Our Story. We feature stories of individuals who have been impacted by Goodwill. Email us and we may feature you! We are looking for shoppers, donors, program participants, volunteers and others who have a Goodwill story.   

 

This month we are featuring Danielle's story. Danielle grew up in Minnesota, hunting through Goodwill stores with her mom for wooden furniture, old Tupperware containers and other treasures. Danielle now lives in Maine, but stays connected to her Mom through sharing their Goodwill finds.

Store Grand Opening Events: Derry, NH & Windham, ME

Goodwill Industries of Northern New England is pleased to announce the grand opening of two new Goodwill stores in May. Please join us for the Grand Opening of our new Derry, New Hampshire store on Thursday, May 10 and our new Windham, Maine store on Thursday, May 24. Both events start at 9 am.

Celebration activities include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 am, door prizes and a weekend-long raffle. Customers will also have the opportunity to learn about Goodwill's programs in Maine and New Hampshire that help strengthen communities and get people back to work.

Both stores feature a convenient donation drive-thru and several environmentally-friendly aspects, including an energy-efficient HVAC system, polished concrete floors (which eliminates the need for harsh chemical cleaners), outdoor LED lights and large windows to reduce electricity use. The buildings are also engineered for Energy Star compliance, which means Goodwill will be able to apply for Energy Star status after one year of operation.

May 18: Donation Drive at University of Maine (Orono)

Bring your donations for Goodwill and watch the UMaine Black Bears Baseball take on the Stony Brook Sea Wolves (NY) in a double-header game.

June 2: Donation Drive in North Yarmouth, Maine  

Residents of North Yarmouth are invited to join Goodwill for our second annual Community Donation Drive & Spring Clean Up. Bring donations to North Yarmouth Town Hall between 8 am and 3 pm. Learn more.  

June 10: SWAPmaine Clothing Swap & Donation Drive (Portland) 

Goodwill is pleased to once again work with SWAPmaine to hold a clothing swap and donation drive on Sunday, June 10, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Portland Flea for All. Come swap, donate and meet all the great vendors at the flea market! Learn more.    

June 28: Donation Drive at Portland Sea Dogs 
Join Goodwill for our annual donation drive with the Portland Sea Dogs. Bring a donation for Goodwill and cheer on the Sea Dogs as they take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Game starts at 7 pm. Learn more.
