What does it mean to trust in the Divine in a time like this? That is a question I have been exploring in this season. Amid the violence and lack of trust, amid the political pandering and fear induced speech, in what can we trust?

Part of my faith rests on the belief that the Universe wishes good for all of us. By that, I don't mean good will always come our way, rather I believe that the Force that connects us all, is constantly luring us toward beauty, justice and fullness of life. This Force really does want good for each of us and all of creation.

But we can still choose. We have the power to forge our own way. We can turn our backs on Love. We can let our egos lead and seek our own success or power over a common wholeness. But I am guessing God is used to working around us. I bet that whatever God is, it has become accustomed to making things happen in spite of our egos. This gives me comfort! The Holy transcends our little squabbles and selfish motives.

Here is a sermon I preached earlier this month on trusting in God. As I shared, "I must confess that for much of my life, my definition of trusting in God was something like this: Listen God, here is my plan; I trust you will make it happen!"

Come to Dinner Church this Sunday to be inspired, accompanied and loved as you are!

Peace to you,

Who we are

We are progressive Christians, agnostics, spiritual independents and other people of conscience who want to live with purpose and joy in a community rooted in love.

Our vision

We envision a radically inclusive, deeply spiritual, unapologetically progressive, theologically diverse church, actively engaged in personal and social transformation.

Our mission

We are a faith community bound together by a shared commitment to grow in love. We accomplish this by:
  • extending and receiving extravagant welcome and hospitality
  • nurturing our inner lives to be more whole
  • uniting as agents of social change for the common good
  • living in the ways of love, peace, joy, and justice found in the teachings of the radical, mystical Jesus as well as the wisdom of many traditions

It's not what you believe; it's how you love
