"What was the sunny spot of your day?"   A daily ritual ~ a tradition of checking in at day's end which began "in my other life" when I was a sales rep for radio station "Sunny 98.5" broadcasting from Panama City, Florida.  Weekly sales meetings involved reporting the sunny spot of your week which evolved into a daily question to my family as we gathered together in the evening.  Sunny spot of the day comes with stipulations: no matter what your day presented there was a "sunny spot" somewhere; and no negatives allowed; saying "right now" does not work as that would be too obvious; and feel free to take more than one sunny spot for that exceptional day. This ritual has grown exponentially across miles, through years of sharing with family and friends. I hope that you will make it a part of your day.

Speaking of sun, coming in July will be Sarah Sneeden's compilation of works titled "Captured Sunshine" as her works dance with color and vibrancy.  Her happy sunflowers match her personality as her enthusiasm shines.   A delight to meet and to visit, she will be demonstrating for Art After Dark on the 1st.

Speaking of July, the 4th of July Kids on Main parade will be marching down Main Street. Kids of all ages will be decorated in red, white and blue in this non-motorized event which is filled with music, dance and gaiety.      Decorations and decorating help are provided free of charge by Downtown Waynesville Association. Come join the fun for a spectacular celebration.
Wishing you a summer filled with lots of "sunny spots"

Oil Painter Sarah Sneeden will be demonstrating in Twigs and Leaves Gallery during Art After Dark Friday evening, July 1st, 6-9 PM.  Sarah herself is a burst of sunshine as her paint brush fills the canvas with vibrant color and light. Her works of "Captured Sunshine" will be featured all month in the gallery. We hope that you will be able to visit with her that evening.  If you want to see more of her work, you may click on the image above.

Potter
Annette Libby

Annette Libby was born and
raised in Germany, and moved to the United States twenty-four years ago. As a self-taught artist, her work is greatly influenced by her love for nature.

Graceful, simplistic forms found in nature fascinate and influence her pieces. The pottery is formed by hand using a clay slab as opposed to a potter's wheel. Each piece is hand painted (glazed) and is one of a kind. Coils of clay are also used in some pieces in order to create various shapes and forms.

If you want to see more of her work, stop by the Gallery or click on the image to go to our website.
