Library Closed Labor Day
Labor Day Hours
The main library and the Beverly Farms branch will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016 for the Labor Day holiday. Additionally, the main library will be closed on Saturday, September 3. The main library is closed on Sundays, and the Farms branch is closed on Saturdays, until early October.  
'Summer Sounds' Continues in August

Wednesdays, weekly through August 24
6 - 7 PM,  Rain location: Sohier Room
August is chock-full of more great "Summer Sounds" performances! Featured local artists include Paul Harty,   Love Love Trio, and the Kenny Academy of Irish Dance. Join us for these free events on our Winter Street plaza. The series is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Beverly Public Library. See the full schedule here
Bookmobile Service on Hiatus
 
Our Bookmobile Librarian of 28 years, Linda Caravaggio, retired in July. Our Bookmobile service is suspended pending our transition to a new Head of Bookmobile Services. We appreciate your patience, and look forward to resuming our mobile library as soon as possible. Please keep abreast of updates on our Bookmobile page. Questions? Please contact us.
Self-Serve Adult Coloring Kits

Looking for a way to unwind that's simple, free, and creative? We can help! The main library is now offering adult coloring kits for same-day use within the library. Kits include assorted design templates, colored pens and pencils, and a pencil sharpener, and are available at the 2nd floor Circulation Desk. Simply return them to the Circulation desk after use. Enjoy!

'Monday Mornings' Begins September 12

“Monday Mornings," a lecture series for senior adults, runs between September and May at our 32 Essex Street location. Programs run from 9:30 to 10:30 AM (light refreshments start at 9 AM). "On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!" Summer Reading Program
Topsfield Fair minutes are due by Wednesday, August 10, 2016! It is very important that you visit the Children's Room with reading logs by this date. We've got great programs coming up this month, including "Books and Bicycles, Read, Set, Pedal, Read!" with Tony Toledo, drop-in crafting, LEGO Club, and more.  Visit the  Kids Page  for all Summer Reading details.  Story Times will run through the week of August 7, 2016.

3D Design with SketchUp

Thursday, August 11
6:30 - 8:30 PM
Sohier Room, Main Library
Registration required. Come learn the design potential of SketchUp software for 3D printing. Attendees will be encouraged to conceive of a specific project that would allow exploration of the software and make it easy to use our 3D printer for future projects. Free and open for age 12 and up. "Get in the Game, READ!" Summer Reading Program
Registration closes Saturday, July 30, 2016. Registered teens must redeem their game cards no later than 4 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 - the deadline for collecting prizes, raffle tickets, and earning tickets to the Topsfield Fair. Join us in August for "Camp Half Blood" (on the Beverly Common!) and Donut Book Club, in addition to Prize Day events (August 10). See all details on the Teens Page

Intro to 3D Printing
 
Thursday, August 4
6:30 - 8:30 PM
Sohier Room, Main Library
Registration required. Learn the basics of working with the library's 3D printer Makerbot, and simple download and design using Thingiverse, Tinkercad and SketchUp. The workshop is required if you wish to use the 3D printer independently. No previous experience is needed to attend the workshop. Open to age 10 +. Laptops/devices are welcome. Questions? The main library is pleased to host an art exhibit by award-winning freelance illustrator Dom Civiello. Dom has recently been recognized by several major illustration magazines and the Association of Illustrators in London, among others. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours, when library programs or community meetings are not in progress.
