Community Servings is proud to share it's successful partnership with the Walmart Foundation. With the Foundation's support this past year, Community Servings delivered over 355,000 meals to nearly 1,300 individuals and family members affected by a critical illness.

The Secret Ingredient is YOU! Pie Seller

Thanksgiving may seem far away, but planning is already underway for Pie in the Sky 2011. With the sale of each pie, Community Servings is able to feed a critically ill neighbor for an entire week. Last year our 500-member volunteer sales force helped us raise a record-breaking $502,000. This year YOU can make it even bigger and better! Please join the fun by becoming a pie seller, click here to sign up.

"Thanks to Community Servings,
There is Hope for My Future"Meal Preparation

Over time, many of our meals clients become well enough to return to preparing their own meals because their health has stabilized - thanks in part to our nutritious meals.

A few weeks ago, we received a letter from Sharon in which she told us she would like to transition off our meals program in order to help us feed others in need. "I feel it is best for me to forgo the program. I am back to work. Although I am still living with full-blown AIDS, I think in the interest of 'letting the meals go to someone with a greater need' now is the time to end my participation." The client went on to say that our "service literally saved my life at a time when I was very close to death, for that my family and I are eternally grateful. At present, my health is good, my AIDS related numbers are still lower than we would like, but thanks to Community Servings, there is hope for my future...without your help in my time of need, I'd surely not be able to write this note."

It is powerful reminders like these that make us feel so grateful that we are able to help those that are too sick to shop or cook for themselves while they try to regain their health and strength. For the full letter, click here.
