More new products this week!

-Gluten-Free Bagels from Sweet Note Bakery of Philadelphia: Featured last weekend in the Philadelphia Inquirer, these gluten-free bagels hand-crafted in Manayunk caught my eye. Touted by the bakery as, "the only gluten-free bagel that tastes like a bagel," I was intrigued. I was also impressed that this bakery (founded in 2012) is operated by three 20-something women, and their business is really taking off. Their first customer, Philadelphia's Green Line Cafe, ordered 3 bagels to start, but now order 5 cases a week and the bakery is now producing 5,000 bagels every week.They're even selling their bagels in New York (the ultimate tough customer for bagels!). -Ancient Grains Linguine from Vera Pasta of West Chester: Chef Joe from Vera Pasta tells me that this Linguine made from kamut, an ancient relative of durum wheat, is a great seller for him. Kamut
is significantly higher in protein than regular wheat flour and has a somewhat sweet, buttery flavor.

New Pick-Up Hours Starting February! We're changing the hours for our micro-market to earlier in the week. This will mean your produce will be fresher than ever, with less time between when the farmers deliver to us and when you take your food home! Starting February 12, our micro-market hours will be Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-7pm. (We'll be discontinuing Friday and Saturday store hours.) You'll be able to choose either Wednesday or Thursday when placing your order for pick-up.


Online ordering is open until 8am on Wednesday.
Please let us know if you ever have any problems signing-in to your account, or any other problems with ordering.  Just reply to this e-mail.

We're please to offer gluten-free bagels this week from Sweet Note Bakery. One of the great things about this Philadelphia company is that it's operated by three young women, and the founder/baker, Michelle MacDonald, has a wonderful story and mission that we'd like to share with you. Here it is in her words:


I've been baking for as long as my parents could trust me with an oven. I grew up watching my father and other role models in my life take the entrepreneurial leap and once I finished college I kept thinking "why can't I?". I came up with excuses to that question for another 6 years but then in 2012 I stopped doubting myself and came up with reasons why I COULD.

Since baking has always been my passion, when my grandfather & sister became diagnosed with Celiac Disease I knew this was where I could make a difference and start my entrepreneurial journey. The name Sweet Note came right to me- the idea of always starting and ending your day on a sweet/positive/optimistic note..as you can see sweet sounded the best.

In September 2012 the Sweet Note GLUTEN-FREE BAGEL was born! Why bagels? My family loves bagels, I love bagels, you love bagels and if you need to eat gluten-free you want a bagel that tastes good!

Sweet Note Bakery's vision is to make gluten-free options more accessible. I watch my families' struggles of trying to decide where to eat, whether to bring their own food out or even worse not eat gluten-free for that meal. It can be isolating to not be able to enjoy a meal out with friends and family. So I want to change that, one gluten-free bagel at a time.
