Veterans Open House for "RAV-Reaching All Veterans" campaign for the SD Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Will be a come and go event. Hughes/Stanley/Sully Counties Veteran Service Officer and Field Officer from SD Dept. of Veterans Affairs will be on hand to discuss VA Benefits that Veterans may be eligible for.

Parents Matter Silpada Fundraiser

Fundraising event for Parents Matter Coalition will be held at the Governors Inn.  30% of all retail sales will be donated to the PM Coalition. Would you know what to do if one of your employees had a tragic event happen, such as: death of a loved one, divorce, or their behavior suddenly changes and they started being tardy, absent, making mistakes, or otherwise exhibiting behaviors not typical for that employee?  If you recognize any of these as issues you have had to deal with, are dealing with or want to be prepared for, please plan to attend this seminar on assisting employees in a professional and responsible manner.

The Miss Oahe Organization Board is looking for volunteers. The Miss Oahe Pageant will be held June 13th, 2014 in Pierre, SD. This pageant is a preliminary to the Miss South Dakota and Miss America Pageant.Come find out more and what you can do to help at the pageant as well as leading up to the event at the next meeting on Thursday, April 17th.

The Post 8 Pancake Feed

The 61st Annual Elks Easter Egg Hunt

AARP Smart Driver Class

The AARP Smart Driver course teaches valuable defensive driving skills and provides a refresher of the rules of the road.  Since 1979, the course has helped over 14 million drivers learn proven safety strategies and tips for how to adapt one/s driving to compensate for physical and cognitive changes that may come with aging.  Plus, you may qualify for an automobile insurance discount by completing the course (participants should check with their auto insurance agent for details.

It Just Takes One - Fundraiser

The "It Just Takes One" event at McDonald's which was cancelled due to the blizzard last Monday has been re-scheduled for: **Thursday, April 24th! 5pm-8pm** 20% of all sales will be donated to the Club.  Come down to support and for your chance to win some cool prizes including free dessert from McDonald's for a whole year, two Twins game tickets, plus more. The store will be decorated, the Torch Club kids will be out and about and we'll be ready for ya!

Post 8 Baseball Roast Beef Feed

Modern Woodmen of America along with Post 8 baseball will be honoring Mike Kelley for his years of dedication and service to the youth baseball program in Pierre as a true Home Town Hero.

Pike Fishing Tournament

Stand Up to Child Abuse 5K run/walk

The Avera St. Mary's Hospital Central South Dakota Child Assessment Center - Prevention Coalition is promoting awareness of Child Abuse Prevention through a 5 K run/walk. All proceeds are directed to future prevention efforts.
