Cardboard Boat Builders for Fireball Run

  • Oahe Days Cardboard Regatta
  • Fireball Run
  • Admission: Financial assistance to cover cost of duct tape and sealant
The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for 15 businesses, groups or individuals who would like to help students build cardboard boats for the upcoming Fireball Run. Each group will be teamed up with a couple students from the Georgia Morse Middle School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Club to design, build and store the boats. They will be used during the September 29th Fireball Run Amazon TV series.

Each team will need enough cardboard, tape and sealant to build the boats. Construction will begin ASAP in the Georgia Morse Middle School wrestling room. Teams will be assigned a designated "building week" to construct the boats. It's a great way to connect students with the workforce and have a lot of fun along the way.

We will use the same rules as the Oahe Days Cardboard Boat Regatta which can be found above. Each boat should be made strong enough to fit one large adult. Have fun with the design, add lots of color and imagination.

Call the chamber if you would like to be involved or to ask questions - 224-7361

" A Fairy Tale Courtroom" is an extremely adaptable comedy that shows the other side of several familiar fairy tales when two of their biggest villains, the Big Bad Wolf and the Wicked Witch, are brought to trial. Both the Wolf and the Witch have been frolicking from fairy tale to fairy tale wreaking havoc as they try to prevent the general public from living happily ever after. Hear the personal accounts of what happened, told in testimonies and flashback sequences, from characters such as Snow White, Dorothy, Sleeping Beauty, the Three Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and many others, including the Witch and the Wolf themselves, as each trial unfolds. The audience is the jury, so each trial has two endings depending on the verdict.
