Pennsville Animal Rescue has partnered with Kuranda to help our rescues get new beds and we need your help! Kuranda has offered generous discounts to our clients to donate a bed and made it very easy for shipping too - it comes directly to us in your name as the donator.
Our goal is 15 dog beds and 15 cat beds or towers. Please help by sharing our direct link to our special Kuranda site made just for FURever Friends. It will only take a few minutes to help 30 rescues get a good night's sleep.

Along with the weekly classes we are holding our first Summer Yoga Camp for kids. This will be a great opportunity for your little yogi to spend a week learning about yoga in a supportive group environment.

At our yoga summer camp kids will be actively engaged in group activities integrating, yoga, books, music and creativity. Appel Farm Names New Executive Director
|
|
On behalf of the Appel Farm Arts & Music Center's Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Cori Solomon as Executive Director, replacing Loren Thomas who retired in late 2013.
After a six-month, highly competitive national search, Cori was selected from "within the ranks of Appel Farm" against an impressive group of more than 50 applicants. Ms. Solomon has served as Camp Director at Appel Farm since 2007. The Board recognized her visionary, dynamic and inspiring leadership skills, her extensive arts management experience and deep knowledge and devotion to Appel Farm's core mission. Ms. Solomon has extensive teaching, visual and performing arts experience as a Gifted and Talented Certified Teacher both in this region and in Cottingham, England. She was Arts Director and Administrator at Kamp Kahut in Oxford, Maine, Assistant Camp Director at Camp Curtain Call Performing Arts Camp and Theater Director at S.T.A.R.T.S. Summer Day Camp. She is a Board Member of the Philadelphia Area Camp Experts. Ms. Solomon's passion for the arts is a natural extension of her own experiences as an actress, director, dancer and visual artist. Ms. Solomon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics, from Queens University and is completing her Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University. As part of the senior leadership team, Ms. Solomon was instrumental in exceeding its enrollment and income goals in 2013 and the arts education programming continued to expand beyond the camp footprint to year-round education programs at Appel Farm, in community and social service settings, and in public schools throughout South Jersey. Appel Farm currently provides arts programs in partnership with Pittsgrove Public Schools, as well as Vineland Public Charter School. In addition, Appel Farm is involved in a variety of short and long term residencies with 15 other schools and agencies in the region. The search for a new Executive Director was led by a 5-person Search Committee of the Board chaired by Board Member, Nancy Burd, and supported by Priscilla Rosenwald, President of Leadership Recruiters, a national search firm based in Philadelphia, PA. We hope you will welcome Cori along with us as she leads us forward in the expansion and deepening of our programs and building on our relationships with our community partners in order to better serve the South Jersey region.
