Salem County Women's Services Seeks Volunteers
|
Volunteers Needed! Salem County Women's Services is offering a Free Training for volunteers to be part of the Salem County Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT). Members are trained to go out to local police departments to provide support for victims of Domestic Violence who are seeking a restraining order.
Requirements for volunteers: You must be 18 or older, have your own transportation, complete a volunteer application, have a criminal background check completed, and be a part of the on-call rotation schedule.
SCWS will provide the 40-hour training free of charge beginning October 25, 2014. Training will take place on Monday and Thursday evenings and on three Saturdays. Once volunteers have completed the training they will be able to provide support and information to victims of Domestic Violence. Each new volunteer will also be provided with mentoring from a current volunteer or staff member.

Fall is in the air and it is time to bring in those plants that you want to winter over. We have everything you need, pots, potting soil, large selection of plant stands (including multiple plant racks), saucers, and most importantly, organic insect spray. Big Brothers Big Sisters Hold Car Raffle 10/12/14
|
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties will host their annual Car Raffle on October 12th at the Harvest Festival in Rosenhayn, NJ. On the day of the event, Big Brothers Big Sisters will pick the name of a lucky winner and it could be you! The winner of the raffle will have their choice of a 2014 Chevy Camaro 2LT Convertible, a 2014 Cadillac SRX, a 2014 Dodge Ram, a pair of 2015 Harley Davidson Motorcycles, a pair of 2014 Jeep Patriots, a pair of 2014 Chevy Sparks, a 2014 Buick Lacrosse or mix it up!
The odds of winning are tremendous because only 999 raffle tickets will be sold. Meeting Space For Educators Needed
|
I am the curriculum trainer for a non-profit (Code.Org) dedicated to helping K-5 students learn to read and write computer code as part of their everyday curriculum. I am tasked with training any and all k-8 teachers, administrators, librarians and technology coaches in our newest FREE curriculum. Teacher guides, supplies, training and support are all free. I am scheduling time in different counties to provide this training free-of-charge to your school district's teachers. I require a space, preferably donated by a member of your Chamber of Commerce, to host 20-40 educators from your community. The training is 7 hours long and generally on a Saturday prior to June 2015. I will make sure to mention the donation of the time and space to attendees, and include the provider's logo and information prominently on all flyers and communication. This is a fantastic program to get involved with, and provides a member of your organization the opportunity to give back to the community by letting us utilize a room that might not otherwise be used during a weekend. Any help you could offer would be appreciated.

Town & Country Golf Links Tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters
Town & Country Golf Links in Woodstown, NJ will hold a golf tournament that will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties. The tournament will be held on Sunday, October 5th. Registration will begin promptly at 8:00 am with the tournament starting at 9:00 am. Every golfer will receive a dozen Pinnacle Golf Balls. The player entry fee is $130 which includes 18 holes of golf & cart, Breakfast & coffee at registration and buffet lunch with beer and refreshments. Foursomes are $500.
All golfers should wear proper golf attire which would be no jeans, t-shirts or metal spike golf shoes. Prizes will be given to longest drives, first and second place teams and closest to the pin. Hole-In-One Prizes are a 2014 Cadillac and a $5,000 cash prize! The proceeds of this event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties and help change children's live for the better, forever. Don't miss this fun-filled day!
