Healthy Kids Day

A free community event that will help families find fun through active play and educational opportunities to improve health and well-being. This Saturday at the Hollidaysburg YMCA 10:00am-1:00pm. Families can enjoy face painting, hula hoop activities, health screenings, bicycle rodeo (weather permitting), open swim (1:00-5:00), a juggler, obstacle course, recycled art displays, crafts and more. There will also be a t-shirt give-away, a bicycle raffle and bicycle helmet give-away. All activities are free and open to the public. (more info)

Art in Bloom Spring Art Show

The "Art in Bloom" Spring Art Show is being held this weekend April 28th-29th at the Cambria County Courthouse in Ebensburg. Show hours are Noon - 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday. Each year, the display features over 200 pieces of artwork by professional and amateur artists from all over Pennsylvania. Free admission. (more info)

Students Get Involved with Flight 93 Memorial Project
Fifteen students and five faculty at Penn State Altoona spent several hours on Friday planting trees as part of the Flight 93 Memorial reforestation project.  Students and faculty from the Environmental Studies and Honors programs joined about 150 other volunteers...read more

Taste of the Alleghenies

Mark your calendar, The Park at Morrison's Cove is holding Taste of the Alleghenies next weekend with a two-day vendor show and exhibitors ranging from restaurants to cookware companies. Each day will be highlighted by cooking demonstrations featuring regional chefs. Tickets start at only $10 for general admission each day. (more info)
