Balloons, Tunes & BBQ

Look to the skies for color this weekend as the 2010 U.S. Bank Balloons, Tunes and BBQ kicks off Thursday evening at the BG/ WC Airport! Presented by Houchens Industries and benefiting United Way of Southern KY, there is no charge for admission or parking again this year. The fun kicks in Thursday evening with Kids' Night featuring the Carnival Midway, Inflatable Fair, and a Talent Showcase.

Then on Friday, come out for tethered balloon rides, balloon glows at dusk, live music, and the Bowling Green Idol Contest. The festivities continue at 12 pm Saturday before the Hare and Hound race at 5 pm and another night of great live music including country artists Rhett Atkins and Nick Hoffman.

Look for the Marmon Club vintage cars on display Saturday afternoon or take a tour of a WWII aircraft, the Flying Fortress, while on a special airport visit this week. Click on the link below to learn more about the Festival or call 270-745- 7532.

Holley LS Fest

Racers, start your engines... and spectators get ready for a brand new automotive event geared around speed and performance. The Holley LS Fest takes place this weekend and is a celebration of the popular GM LS engine and the vehicles that are powered by them. The event promises to be something the area community has never before seen locally!

LS Fest will include an Autocross set up on the oval track, a challenging Speed-Stop-Challenge, and a unique Engine Swap Challenge in addition to Drag Racing, a Show-n-Shine and Countryside Cruise. Participants must have a vehicle with an LS engine, but all spectators are welcome. Admission is only $10 per day or $20 for all three days. Automotive students and children 16 and under are FREE.
