Join us for Spring Cleaning Our House (of Worship) Day! 
Sunday, April 15
 11:45 am  - 3:00 

Join your fellow church-goers for an afternoon of sprucing up our beautiful building together.  Projects will include cleaning and organizing, small repairs, and painting. We'll enjoy a quick pizza lunch in Pilgrim Hall before we break into teams to tackle projects together.  Come prepared to work hard (wear something that can get messy)! Hosted by the Administration and Property committee.  RSVP by Friday April 13, so we can plan appropriately for food and projects.  Contact Jeannine 630-340-0395 .
Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast
April 28th, 7:30-11:30 am

Come and enjoy an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast prepared and served by Boy Scout Troop 41 in Pilgrim Hall on Saturday, April 28th. 7:30 - 11:30 a.m. Price is $5 for an individual ticket or $15 for the entire family. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

Get your tool belts on and paint brushes ready for the our 21st Rebuilding Together on April 28 th. This all day event will happen in Bellwood and our host is Ms. Hooker. We will be doing painting, drywalling, light carpenter work, tiling, and countertop work. We are seeking people among all skill levels. FCCGE Makes OCWM 5 for 5 List Again

FCCGE has once again made the UCC Our Church's Wider Mission 5 for 5 list. The success and sustainability of the United Church of Christ's national ministries relies on churches contribution to basic operating support and mission. Being 5 for 5 means that our church is a leader, providing support to Our Church's Wider Mission and the Special Mission Offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen The Church, Neighbors In Need and The Christmas Fund.

Celebrating Women, Transforming Lives Spring Luncheon

Join us at our annual Spring Luncheon on Friday, April 27, as we celebrate DuPage women's commitment to the community. Their incredible gifts of time, talents and treasure will be recognized, as well as their efforts to make our communities a better place for homeless families. Celebrating Women, Transforming Lives honors women with ties to DuPage County, and thanks them for their courage and philanthropy.

Safe and Secure

At FCCGE we strive to provide a warm, welcoming and safe place for our community. As part of our on-going review of safety procedures, we wish to share the following guidelines to ensure a secure environment for all.

During the week and weekends, when there are no events, planned meetings or activities taking place anywhere in our building, in keeping with Safe Sanctuary and fire protection policies, we ask the following:

1. If you are in the building at any of these "off" times, you must be at least 18 years of age and have      graduated from high school.
2. There must be at minimum, 2 staff members in the building.
3. You limit your visit to the following areas only: lobby, atrium, sanctuary or conference room.
4. When the staff exits the building, we kindly ask that you also exit.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe environment for all our members and friends.

Biennial Staff Recital Wed May 9 @ 7pm
It has been two years since our last recital, and our music and other staff members are ready to entertain you with a mix of classical, jazz, Broadway, folk and rock.  Freewill offering for the music ministry. Open to the public.

Matthew Prins Debuts "Congregational Festival"
April 8, 2018

Last Sunday we were blessed with the premiere of  Matthew Prins'  composition  for bells, "Congregational Festival" in honor of Matthew's service to FCCGE for the last 10 years. A prolific and talented song writer, Matthew has been gracing us with his original music for the last decade. 
Angel Choir for 4-7 Year Olds Begins SOON!

Rehearsals start soon for our May 6th performance! Yay!! We'll rehearse in the sanctuary for 30 minutes on  Sunday, April 22nd at 4:00 pm and  Sunday April 29th at 4:00 pm.  Performance is Sunday, May 6th at the 9 and 10:30 services. Contact Sherry Flugel.

Choir Exchange 
April 15th and 22nd

Our choirs are coming together with the choir from Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wheaton, where our organist Paul Doerrfeld's sister, Ellen Coman, is the music director.  Our choir will join them in worship in Wheaton on April 15, and their choir will join us in worship at FCCGE on April 22, when we will perform one of Ellen's original compositions.

Fill the Ark

Thank you to the families who contributed to the Lenten "Fill the Ark" church school offering.  We raised $390 to share with Heifer International in their mission to work with communities to create income, empower women, care for the earth, and ultimately end world hunger and poverty .
Church School Offering for April 

Our April offering will go to support the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, who has been, for 35 years, distributing groceries to our neighbors in need and are passionate about helping those who have fallen on hard times.
