How Can I Help?
Fall Church-Wide Art Project
Starting Now

Everyone is invited to be a part of this church-wide art project, the theme of which is "The Good Life."  We hope you will give us a "hand" in creating an art exhibit for the gallery, consisting of hand-prints of the children, youth and adults of our congregation, that are filled with the gifts, joys and pleasures that fill their lives.  Supplies available in the Main Lobby, instructions and a box to deposit your artwork are on a table near the parking lot entrance.  The exhibit goes on display beginning Rally Day, September 10, and continues throughout the fall sermon series, "The Good Life," based on the  Book of Ecclesiastes.   "Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might"-Ecclesiastes 9:10a.

OUCH! Pain in the Pews!

So you're sitting in one of our pews and during a reflective prayer or fab sermon you notice a little... something. A button has popped off of our pew cushions and is now digging into your leg! Sharon Wussow is looking for people that can help sew these missing buttons back on-500 of them to be exact (buttons, not people :-) You don't need a sewing background or know-how to help in this project. It's super easy, goes quickly and you'll be trained on how to do it. Sharon will work with your schedule to make it convenient to help - give us 10 minutes or an hour of your time - it's up to you! Please contact Sharon here.

The New Fiscal Year has Begun

Remember, the FCCGE pledge year is now July 1, 2017 -June 30, 2018-Be the Church.  First Congregation Church of Glen Ellyn is 100% funded by your gifts, and our goal for 2017-18 is to meet the operating needs of our congregation - for our staff, for our building, for our mission, and for our children.  Informing the church and committing to your giving plan helps the church administrators more accurately plan and execute our programs, schedule much needed maintenance and commit to our many outside missions.   Visit the church website > GIVE to make an online pledge or gift, or increase your gift.  If you've already made a financial commitment to FCCGE-thank you!

Wiggle-Worm in Worship?
Make All-Ages Worship An Enriching Experience

We CELEBRATE and WELCOME families in worship as Jesus welcomed and blessed the children.  It is not just the parents' responsibility to welcome and nurture the children but the entire congregation's PRIVILEGE and JOY.

Church School Offering

Our church school offering will continue to go to the Glen Ellyn Walk in Ministry for the summer months. The Walk-In Ministry is a coordinated effort of 18 area churches that endeavors to provide a single source of compassionate assistance to individuals and families in need. This ministry operates on funds provided voluntarily by the member churches and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of a representative from each member church.
