Meet Our Summer Youth Interns!
Calla Mahr

Calla will be a senior this fall at Wheaton North where she does Varsity Speech Team and Youth in Government. Outside of school, Calla is a tutor at the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center. Through being a summer intern, Calla hopes to learn more about the inner workings of ministry and grow in her faith. After college, she plans to study law and is passionate about social justice and helping others.
Bennett Fate

Bennett is going to be a senior at Glenbard West High School. He loves running, music, and hanging out with his friends. He hopes to learn about different ways religion can influence people's lives.
Anna Ebl

Anna is going into senior year at Glenbard West High School. She has always been passionate about sports, especially baseball and softball. She is a part of National Honor Society as well as theater club and will be a senior mentor to the freshman in the fall.  Anna loves speaking to people and forming connections, which is one of the reasons she is so excited for this internship. From this experience, she hopes to expand her understanding of religion as well as creating stronger connections with her church community and God. She can't wait to have the opportunity to speak the word of God and give her own interpretation of it.
Maggie Sim

Maggie is a junior at Glenbard South High School. She has been involved with the Thistle and Heather Highland Dancers (traditional Scottish dancing) for 12 years, and is a three-year varsity track and field member at her high school, as well as being very involved with the art community there. Maggie is so thankful for the opportunity to grow in her faith this summer as an intern, and aspires to learn more about how this wonderful ministry impacts the lives of our community here, as well as how she can impact the community in their faith journey.

Visual Arts Ministry
Main Gallery
The Works of Gregory Deddo

A new exhibit, installed on April 28, features paintings by Gregory Deddo, Studio Associate and Gallery Manager at Wheaton College . His work explores themes of human relationships, family history, and memory. For him, the act of painting is an extension of his understanding of love and relationships, an attempt to see and know another person as truly as possible. See his work and read his complete artist's statement in the gallery.
Artist in Residence Gallery
Featuring Jan Rajeck

This week we say a fond farewell to Ed Kolar's wonderful paintings, and welcome the beautiful quilt art of Jan Rajeck! Here's how this all began for her, in her own words: "I started quilting inadvertently when a friend I was teaching with was retiring. A mutual friend suggested we make her a quilt as a retirement gift. I resisted, pleading lack of necessary skills. She insisted she could teach me, and the rest is history." See Jan's beautiful work, and read more about her, in the Artists in Residence Gallery (on the lower level, adjacent to the Parlor).
