Fall Sermon Series:
"The Good Life"
Wisdom in the Book of Ecclesiastes
Thru Oct. 29th

Join us we explore the art of living well in a broken world. Considering aspects such as family, career, the seasons of life, the meaning of pleasure, the busyness of our days, and aging gracefully, we'll try to find the good life together. The Good Life will run Sundays Sept. 24 through October 29th at both services. Come sit and listen with us as we examine this  provocative  book of the Bible.
Heifer Market 2017
October 15 After 10:30 Worship

Heifer Market 2017 will fill our atrium and lobby with calls of "Pigs!" and "Bees!" by our little ones who are  raising  funds for Heifer International, an organization  we have supported for years. Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth. Each year with our help, like so many others, we "teach a man to fish"  and empower families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity. Attend. Help. Love.
Save the Date
How Can I Help?
Save the Date for Clean Up Our House (of Worship) Day!
Sunday October 22nd
11:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Join your fellow church-goers for an afternoon of sprucing up our beautiful building together. Projects will include clean-up and tidying of spaces that we all like to use and sometimes do not get around to re-setting or deep cleaning (weather permitting, some projects will be outdoors). We'll enjoy a quick pizza lunch and break into teams to tackle projects together. Come prepared to work hard and enjoy seeing our house of worship extra sparkly!

This event is hosted by the Administration and Property committee. Please RSVP soon so we can plan appropriately for food and projects. Online registration here   or send an e-mail to  Jeannine Kannegiesser .
Volunteer for PADS

Want to Serve in a Meaningful Way but Not Much Time?
Here's Your Solution

We are in the process of putting together a team of communion servers to assist clergy in worship. Being one of the only two sacraments performed in the church, it's an important but simple one with a small time commitment. Sharon Wussow will be conducting a brief training, Sunday, October 22nd, 11:45-12:30 in the sanctuary. Once trained, Sharon can fit you in on these occasional Sundays when it fits your schedule.  This is your opportunity to make a difference in the midst of a busy life. Email Sharon .
Neighbors in Need

Neighbors in Need is a special mission offering of the UCC that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the U.S.  Funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM) and the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries (JWM), which includes a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts and direct service projects.  Special offering envelopes are in the pew racks.
Pew Pads Perfect Place to Pray

The pew cushion button brigade led by Sharon Wussow has completed it's most awesome mission of replacing missing and loose buttons. Originally estimated at 500 buttons, (psht, who can't do 500 buttons?) the crew put in over 40 hours and  916 buttons!  Thank you to all that participated!
