PRSA - Regional and national benefits through conferences

Joining PRSA means BIG benefits for learning, networking, engagement, and discounts. This newsletter goes out to our membership. While you may be aware of local PRSA programming, you may not be aware of the extensive national benefits.

Let's focus on the benefits of regional and national conferences.

This spring, join the Greater Spokane Chapter at PRSA Game Changers in Seattle. This is the North Pacific District Conference, and we are fortunate to have the conference in Seattle (see below). This conference is not-to-be-missed! I attended the last conference in Reno, and had a great time meeting other chapters in our district, and learning from my peers.

Finally, each year, there is an annual PRSA International (ICON) conference - this year is in Austin, Texas. I have been lucky to go to two ICONs in Indianapolis and Boston. A highlight at the Boston conference was a strategic public relations presentation from NASA using APR style. See info below to register.

Why did you join PRSA?
Relationships are the foundation of success. I treat PR as the management of your brand’s relationship with its customers. PRSA Spokane is a reputable organization with great people and professionals in the field of marketing and PR. The local events provide a ton of value in the form of PR education, networking, and local support.

Why did you choose your profession?
My mother is a serial entrepreneur and somebody whom I’ve always admired. After graduation, I was eager to jump on the entrepreneur train and create something new. At Corlinc, my mother is my business partner and she co-founded our product to help entrepreneurs simplify relationship marketing with their audience through our platform of online communities.

What are your hobbies?
I’m a big fan of going to comedy shows, Cougar football, playing poker (Texas Hold ‘em), and deep conversations about life, business, politics, finance, or technology. I’m a total geek.

Who is your hero?
Bruce Lee. When I was five years old, I saw my first Bruce Lee movie and remember how “different” he was based on his philosophies. I was hooked by his martial arts skill but stuck around for his approach to life and personal development as an individual.
