New Year's Open House The Ashley Inn is hosting an Open House On Friday, December 31st, from 3pm to 6pm. Everyone is invited to attend and refreshments will be served. The Ashley Inn is located at 9863 Lexington Road (Hwy 27N). There are signs on the new part of 27 that will direct you there. Come along and bring a friend. ______________________________

As the year comes to an end, our Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors looks forward to a new year of growth and prosperity. It is also a time of change as board members finish up their three year term and new members come begin their term. Lancaster Higher Education Center
Enrollment is currently in progress for the Spring 2011 semester that begins Jan. 10th. For a copy of our Spring 2011 Course Schedule, click the here.
Part-time Instructor Pool: The Lancaster Higher Education Center is collecting resumes for a part-time instructor pool to teach general education courses. If you would be interested in teaching a course at the Lancaster Center and have a Master's Degree or at least 18 graduate credit hours in any of the following subject areas; English, History, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, Mathematics or Family Studies; please forward your resume to: sherry.taubert@eku.edu.
Resumes will be kept on file at the Lancaster Higher Education Center for review as part-time faculty openings become available.

Performance Feeds is Officially Here!
 What an exciting day in Garrard County? On Friday, December 10th, Performance Feeds and Animal Health officially opened in the Industrial Park. Hundreds of folks joined in on the community celebration. We are so excited to have Tony Ferguson and his staff as a part of our growing community.

New Small Business Invesment Program
Governor Beshear Announces Launch of Kentucky Small Business Investment Credit Program New tax credit program encourages job creation and capital investment by Kentucky small businesses with 50 or fewer employees LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2010) - Gov. Steve Beshear today announced the Kentucky Small Business Investment Credit (KSBIC) program, part of the Governor's Incentives for a New Kentucky (INK) legislation, will start accepting applications in January 2011. The KSBIC program is designed to spur job creation by providing a nonrefundable state income tax credit to small businesses. The program provides state income tax credits ranging from $3,500 to $25,000 per eligible small business that creates, fills and maintains one or more new, eligible jobs and invests at least $5,000 in qualifying equipment or technology. With certain exceptions, most for-profit small businesses with 50 or fewer employees are considered eligible for the program.

Please assist us with the promotion of this bi-county (Garrard & Madison) event. Open to youth and adults, Field to Fork Festival will showcase Tastes of Kentucky, Harvest Specials Farmers' Market and Sustainable Edible Workshops in one centralized location.

Heritage Hospice seeks volunteers
Heritage Hospice Inc. , which serves Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer counties, will have a day of volunteer training. Volunteers are vital to the work at Heritage Hospice. Examples of ways volunteers assist are running errands, light housekeeping and spending time with patients so caregivers may have a break.
Volunteers must be age 18 or older.
Anyone interested in volunteering needs to attend the training set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 15 at Heritage Hospice, 120 Enterprise Drive in Danville. Register before Jan. 13 by calling Wendy Cox, Director of Volunteer Services, at (859) 236-2425 or email wcox@heritagehospice.com.
