Chamber Member Spotlight

LVC
Lancaster Veterinary Center

Personal Care is so important to all of us. Whether we are in the doctor's office, going through treatments with a parent or nursing a sick child back to health. We all count on professionals that not only know what they are doing but go that extra mile to show compassion and care. Many of us feel this way about our family pets, too. And it's nice to know that there is a veterinarian in town who offers such personal care for our four-legged friends.

Visiting Lancaster Veterinary Center, one can gain a certain respect for the medicine practiced there, but also feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. You will be greeted by a friendly face and a couple of rescued cats anxious for some attention!

Dr. Darren Taul is the man behind the magic. He has grown his veterinary services over the years through hard work,  exceptional service and employing good people. Dr. Taul, a Western Kentucky undergrad and an Auburn Vet School Grad, came to Lancaster straight out of vet school. The vet center - known then as Animal Hospital Services and then Heartland, was located at 408 Richmond Street. Dr. Taul enjoyed his work but realized it could be so much more. So, he bought it in 1999 and renamed it Lancaster Veterinary Center.  He and his staff moved to the current location at 1572 Lexington Street in 2002. A nice new facility to offer a broader range of services for Lancaster and Garrard County.
The Lancaster Vet Center offers full service care for primarily dogs, cats and horses. Specialties include full dental and ear flushing on small animals, small animal orthopedics, equine foot care and equine reproduction. Grooming services are even available through The Shaggy Dog - a separate business located in the building.

The Center uses the most up-to-date procedures, digital x-rays and striving to Go Green by being paper light on the way to paperless. They offer monthly specials with January being 15% off spays and neuters. February will feature a dental special.

Lancaster Veterinary Center, 1572 Lexington Street, is open Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 12noon. They have an answering service with someone on call 24/7 for emergencies. For more information, call 792-2105 or visti them by clicking here.

                                    Farewell to the Holidays

I have been writing for some time about the holidays. It started way back before Thanksgiving and I have included something about the decorations or putting up the decorations or donating for the decorations for weeks. But I am going to write one last thing.Kendall McCane
This picture shows how our community comes together - behind the scenes - to make this a wonderful place! Kendall McCane is the man on the lift and he gave of his time, on some of the coldest days we've had, to hang up almost 70 wreaths to decorate our Square. In addition to Kendall, our Lancaster Fire Department donated their time as well to ensure the light poles were decorated with wreaths, garland and lights and graciously took those down for the Chamber on Tuesday. So thanks to Chief Sebastian and Mr. Barnes for organizing those efforts. One final thank you to Stacy Grow, Larry Stinnett and Joey Johnson with the City of Lancaster. They have been little elves for the Chamber, helping out in ways that I could not have done myself. Thank you for making Hometown Christmas beautiful for our city!
