ISSUE NO. 8 / April 2016
Principal's Message

Hi Sedalia Park families,

Thank you for helping the Sedalia Park Foundation reach the goal of having a new playground built for the beginning of next year. You did an amazing job of raising funds in a short time.

Please congratulate the Sedalia Park Teacher of the Year for 2016-17, Mrs. Cecily Merchant. She is a fabulous Kindergarten teacher and will represent the school well.

Please also congratulate the Sedalia Park Classified Employee of the Year for 2016-17, Mrs. Sophea Jones. She works in the Park Café and greets all students and guests with a smile.

The next 6 weeks of school will be filled with activities for all grade levels. Please note that the last 2 days of school, May 24 and May 25, will be early dismissal days with dismissal at 12:30. Please make plans to be at the bus stops or in the car rider line 2 hours earlier than usual. ASP will be held as usual until 6:00 p.m. on both of those days.

Thank you,
Ms. Wacker

Exciting News
CONGRATULATIONS, Park Panthers! A few short weeks ago, we asked you all to pitch in and help push Sedalia Park Foundation over the finish line in our quest to bring a brand new, ADA-compliant playground to the Park. Well, WE DID IT!

Our goal of raising $17,000 so quickly was incredibly ambitious. But it was NOTHING compared to the commitment and investment of our students, families, teachers & staff. Along with the help of some generous corporate sponsors, we raised more than $18,000 in just over three weeks!

More details will be coming about the playground soon, but we wanted to share this thrilling victory now. Thank you all for being How the Park Grows!

Current Kindergarten Parents we need a current kindergarten parent to review and update the "Guide to the Park: Written for Parents by Parents" which provides new parents important dates and activities in the beginning of the year and some general guidelines and tips. If you would be interested reviewing the guide, please email Thank you!!

Rising Kindergarten Parents - We Need You! Every year a rising kindergarten parent hosts a kindergarten play date at the school during the summer. It is a great way to help new parents get acclimated to the school, meet fellow kindergarten parents, and it gives their kids a chance to meet some new friends at the school who will also be starting kindergarten in August. If you would be interested in hosting the play date please email
