What’s Happening in December:
Toy Drives & Veteran Peer Events .

We will be supplying toys for over 120 Children of Veterans & Active Duty Military this year,
so this Christmas Cheer drive is very important !

Saturday December 16 th,
is our annual Christmas Collection event
we will be collecting toys from 10am -3pm and there will be hot food and refreshments all day.
Besides unwrapped new toys, we also need Christmas tress and decorations, Giftwrap and tape, gift cards to big box stores and food for the Holiday food pantry. (turkeys, hams, frozen and fresh foods)

We are also collecting new packages of socks, underwear, t-shirts, sweat pants and top, shower shoes and puzzle books for hospitalized Veterans that will be delivered to the VA Hospital for Christmas.
 
Tuesday December 19 th, Christmas Cheer Pantry
we will be opening the VAC to all Veterans that need Christmas Cheer for their families. Veterans will be able pick up Christmas toys & gift wrap for their children as well as utilize the food pantries, pick up frozen turkeys and utilize the toiletry, personal care and pet food pantries.
Doors to the VAC will open at 7pm and be open till 9:30PM. We will have hot chow and coffee.
This is for Veterans only, please do not bring family or children with you.

 
We have a few event dates coming up that we could use cooked foods and baked goods for.
Saturday 12/16: cooked tins of brunch type foods and baked goods for the VAC’s annual Christmas collection going on 10-2 pm in Ronkonkoma. Please drop off food between 10-11 at VAC.

Tuesday 12/19: cooked dinner tins and snacks for our annual Veteran Christmas Pantry night. Please drop off food between 6-7 pm at the VAC.

Every Thursday Female Veteran Peer night at the VAC 1800hrs till 2000hrs
The VAC (Veteran Activity Center) is located at 2184 Pond Road, Ronkonkoma.
Sometimes Volunteerism is the answer so If you wish to get involved with the programs, or need supplies such as food or toiletries for the house, food for the pet, some Veterans to shoot the breeze with, or just hot cup of coffee, we’re here every Tuesday & Thursday evening

We just recently returned from a trip to the National WW2 Museum in New Orleans with 8 WW2 Veterans that served in different aspects of the Normandy invasion and D-day, log on and check out pictures from our trip.

As the first Monday in January falls on January 1at we will be canceling community volunteer night for the month of January.
As the Emporium has closed in 2017 there is no Annual Big Pack Out planned for winter of 2018.
