Office Manager/Communication Coordinator
We are pleased to announce that, effective August 21, 2017, Elena Tayem will become St. Gregory's Office Manager / Communications Coordinator.  Elena has spent the past year working as St. Gregory's Communication Coordinator on a part-time basis.  She has excelled in that role.

The Office Manager position became open last week because Ellen Kreshover resigned from that position

Starting August 21st, Elena will work in the office full-time from Monday through Thursday.

This is truly a "win-win" for both Elena and St. Gregory's.  There will now be a more consistent presence in the office for Parishioners.

We wish Elena much success being the Office Manager / Communication Coordinator.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Monthly Meeting - Thursday, August 3rd
Thursday, August 3 at 6:00 p.m. please plan to join the ECW for their monthly pot luck dinner and meeting.  All women, by virtue of their membership in the church, are considered members of the ECW and are  invited to participate.  Members are asked to bring a dish for the potluck; wear your church name tags; and along with fun and fellowship,  be prepared to discuss the upcoming Autumn Bizarre.  Meetings are held in Harris Hall.  We hope you can make it!  You can also contact Kathy Cottrell ([email protected]) and/or Susan D'Ambrosio ([email protected]) with any questions.
Families with Young Children
As some of you know, Father Andrew has started a new initiave at St. Gregory's. We are hoping to start a group for Families with Young Children (FWYC). Children 10 and under.

The purpose of this group is to connect those families who have younger children. The tasks and challenges associated with caring for these younger ones are slightly different from those associated with teens. Our goal is to have outings and gatherings more suited to these young age groups, share experiences and advice, but most of all make lasting friendships between the kids and hopefully parents too.

We are planning a KICK OFF event for August 5th at 3:30pm. After nap time. :-D. The location is TBA. We look forward to seeing you all on August 5th afternoon. Go and mark your calendars now for this family and friendly event! Hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs and beverages will be provided. Bring a side dish or dessert if you'd like!

You may contact me or Father Andrew with any questions or concerns. This event is also open to friends and family who have young children and may not be a member of the church.

We look forward to seeing you all there! -Wazim Reid  [email protected]
Speaking the Truth in Love invites the reader to live assertively - just as Jesus did.

This spiritual yet extremely practical book and training make clear:

- What assertiveness is (and is not)
- the Biblical foundation for assertiveness
- How Jesus is our model for living assertively
- How to be assertive in prayer and praise
- How to make, refuse, and negotiate requests
- How to express and receive compliments
- How to handle criticism, anger, and other tough relational issues

You will learn practical ways to relate to others with greater honesty, compassion, and respect.

Come and experience the freedom and joy of Christian assertiveness!

A limited number of copies of "Speaking the Truth in Love" will be available for purchase at the first discipleship training session.  Participants can also purchase a copy of the book from www.stephenministries.org .  The sessions will be more meaningful for those who have a copy of the book.

With gratitude for the great support we received, EC is giving back immediately by offering five human needs outreach grants to projects of our Palm Beach and Martin County churches that have never received EC grants.

Grants have been awarded to churches in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach and Tequesta. Church of the Good Shepherd, Grace, St. Matthew's and St. Gregory's will receive support for their ongoing and new projects.

SUNDAY, JULY 30
Youth Room open IF there are parent chaperones.

YOUTH GROUP PARENTS -- WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Please volunteer during summer Sundays to chaperone the Youth Room so our teens can enjoy the space after church for fellowship time.  Church policy requires two or more adult chaperones in order to use the space -- it is a matter of safety.

It's so easy to do -- your presence in the room and attentiveness to those present is all that is needed.  So, grab a cup of coffee and a snack from Coffee Hour and head on up there are comfortable couches and chairs (think Starbucks with a pool and air hockey table!) and you can enjoy social time with fellow parents while the teens enjoy the space.

SUNDAY, August 20 -- Annual Parish Picnic after the 10am service!
Welcome the Rev. Benjamin Thomas, our new Assistant Rector, and his family at the 10am service and afterwards at the picnic!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26 and/or SUNDAY, August 27 --
YOUTH GROUP KICK OFF EVENT - stay tuned for details!
