VIDEO: From Tim Brumfield, Director of Music - SINGING SONS IN PREPARATION FOR EVENSONG
A Lenten Evensong will be held Sunday, March 26 at 5 PM and will feature the Florida Singing Sons as the choir. Music will include a psalm setting by Charles Hubert Parry and Canticle settings by Charles Villiars Stanford.  They will be singing J. S. Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and the suffrages will be chanted by the congregation and cantor.  If you've never experienced Evensong, you are in for a glorious experience.  The Florida Singing Sons are in preparation for our Evensong and have been working very hard in order to deliver a beautiful and inspiring service for St. Gregory's.  Not only have they been learning beautiful music but have been discovering a lot of music history as well.  We in the Anglican tradition experience the very best of Western classical choral music each Sunday and and are often unaware of its historical content.  The students in the Singing Sons have been learning about Anglican Chant psalms and their origins, have explored the history of English composers such as Parry and Stanford, and have learned how the Church has influenced and directed the path Western music has taken over the centuries. Singing Evensong at St. Gregory's has provided not only a musical experience, but a historical education for these young men as well.  We are so fortunate to welcome one of South Florida's premier youth ensembles to St. Gregory's as they transport us to heavenly realms and bring us closer to the Divine.  PLAN NOW TO ATTEND!
Congratulations to Wazim and Ayana Reid, who welcomed to the world on March 6th their new beautiful baby girl - Naya Marian Reid! Welcome to the St. Gregory's Family, Naya!

Peaceful Lent for Children
Children, ages 4-10, are invited to child-friendly time with Jesus during Lent. In this very busy season, children also need quiet time for reflection.

Centering Prayer
Please join us for Centering Prayer on Wednesday evenings before Bible Study.
Centering Prayer is the act of sitting in silence in the presence of God. As thoughts rise up we use a sacred word, image, or breath as a reminder to return to our center focus on God. This continued practice opens us to the indwelling of the Spirit. Returning to center begins to permeate daily life, awakening us to our response to others in community as we strive to live out a God centered life. This prayer practice is based in teachings of the early Christian ascetics and was formally introduced as the practice of Centering Prayer in the 1970's. Each Wednesday we will gather and sit for a period of twenty minutes. Meet in the chapel at 6:30 pm. For more information contact Heather Sisk: [email protected]
SMALL IN-HOME DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS
One of the many offerings we will have during the season of Lent is to have three small in home discipleship groups of 5-10 individuals who will gather together on a weekly basis for prayer and study. This is one of the many suggestions that arose from our Renewal Works surveys that would help our congregation to grow spiritually.  Meetings start next week and will last for the six weeks of Lent. One group, led by Pastor Angela, will meet Tuesdays at 12:30 pm at Starbucks for "Coffee Talk." Thursdays at 10am, we will be meeting at the Baker's home - 1328 SE 3rd Ave. Deerfield Beach, FL 33441. A third group, led by Terri Murru, will be meeting  Thursdays at 7:30am at the South Beach Pavilion An optional Beach Clean-Up will follow.

O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled for evermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
