Betsy Wenzel to Preach This Sunday
This Sunday we welcome St. Gregory's member Betsy Wenzel to the pulpit as our guest preacher.  Betsy graduated with a Health and Physical Education degree from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, where she played varsity tennis and badminton and was a student athletic trainer.

Betsy has taught classes from kindergarten through college in her field, including health, first aid, personal fitness, weight training, swimming, and general P.E. classes. Currently, she enjoys educating individuals and families about health and nutrition.

She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Ken, for 35 years and together they have raised two boys that are now in their twenties.

Her hobbies are traveling, watching the sunrise, playing golf and tennis, and small group studies. Betsy also loves to hike and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa in 2006.  It is her passion to serve Jesus by inspiring healthy living in mind, body and spirit.
Sherman Family Update
Greetings to all from the Shermans!  Sabbatical time continues to be such a tremendous blessing to us all and we continue to be incredibly grateful.  We wanted to take this opportunity to give you all a quick update on who is where since we are all going in so many directions.  Anita and Jacob have returned and are settling back in; for the remainder of the Sundays during the sabbatical period we will visit area Episcopal churches for Sunday worship to connect with our nearby diocesan brothers and sisters.  Andrew is in Paris for a little longer and then will return for a brief stop here before heading to the Diocese of Chicago to explore the Renewal Works ministry in greater depth.  Susamma and Hannah reached India safely and are enjoying time with family and friends.  You have all been in our prayers and we eagerly look forward to our "Welcome Back Sunday" on August 21 to exchange stories and hugs.  Peace and blessings to all!
Two Sabbatical Activities Scheduled for August
August 7: Boca Museum Visit
To mirror Fr. Andrew's study of art this summer, you are invited to join St. Gregory's second Sabbatical Pilgrimage  on Sunday August 7. Enjoy lunch at Uncle Julio's Mexican Restaurant in Mizner Park at 11:45, followed by a visit to Boca Museum's All Florida Invitational Exhibition. This year, five internationally-recognized, Florida-based artists selected five early-career artists to participate. You will see works by the five-member selection committee alongside the work of 25 artists they believe show great promise. Our own Betsy Craig, an art expert, will lead us. Uncle Julio's will issue separate checks.  Museum entrance is free. Sign-up sheets are in Harris Hall or call the office at 561-395-8285. Reservations are required. Register today!

Send Us Your Sabbatical Stories
Have you been enjoying this summer's sabbatical activities? Then share your experience with us!

In the August and September What's Happening-Steeple News Editions, we will feature reflections, short vignettes, and remembrances from parishioners about the summer at St. Gregory's. What were some of your favorite moments? How did you grow spiritually? Do you have any inspirational or humorous stories to tell? If you have a photo that goes with your story, please include it as well.

Through these stories and photos we will celebrate our sabbatical time together and create a "Sabbatical In Review" collection for Fr. Andrew when he returns.

If you would like to contribute, please email your submission to Stephanie Anderson at [email protected].

The names of those honored will be acknowledged in the bulletin and in the Prayers of the People. The requested donation for the sanctuary lamp is $25 per week, and weeks begin on Sunday. Episcopal Churches Go for Pokémon Go
St. Gregory's is a PokéStop.
From the Episcopal News Service

Pokémon Go is a game, but Christie Tugend is ready to nominate it for a Nobel Peace Prize.

"In the middle of these contentious times, people are coming out of their houses," said Tugend, parish administrator for Christ Church, Coronado, in the Diocese of San Diego. "They're walking their neighborhoods and public places, gathering together at all times of the day, and interacting with one another with kind and friendly words and smiles on their faces. Barriers seem to disappear. Okay, so they're walking around with their noses in their cell phones but still..."

Tugend is among the millions of people playing Pokémon Go, an augmented reality game where folks use their phones to find and capture animated creatures. The game, released in early July, has experienced record-breaking growth, with an estimated 30 million downloads in just a few weeks. Tugend and others are not only playing the game themselves but also taking advantage of its wild popularity by extending Christian hospitality.

Join Us In Prayer
We ask you to join us in a prayer for peace following the recent shootings in the United States:

Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and glory, now and for ever. Amen.
