 Backpacks 4 Success!

This summer, our Backpacks 4 Success! program provided 2,800 students in

under-served and disadvantaged Orange County School Districts with fully supplied backpacks from donor businesses and organizations, which is 500 more backpacks than we were able to distribute last year!

Eligible K-12 students received a backpack with: pencils, erasers, colored pencils, crayons, glue sticks, paper, and other grade appropriate items.

78% of low-income students start the school year with no or inadequate school supplies, putting the student and the teacher at a disadvantage from the very first day of school. We make sure that children living in poverty have an equal opportunity in education which begins by first making sure they have the tools that are vital to their success!

A special thank you to the Employees Community Fund of Boeing California for raising funds and supplies to help supply backpacks at Oakview Elementary in Huntington Beach! We also received support from the Orange County Sheriffs and Lance, Soll & Lunghard.

  Summer Youth Camp

As our summer youth camp comes to a close, we want to highlight all of the fun and educational programs our Family Resource Centers have participated in this summer!

Our students got a tour of Chapman University and inquire about the requirements needed to attend college. None of our youth had visited a college campus before and it was great to see them so excited for their futures!

Youth Visit the LA County Museum of Natural History

Our kids had the "best day ever" visiting Disneyland. For many it was their first time going to the park!

These kids loved learning about various animals at the Irvine Park Zoo

Camp kids learned how to roller skate. No matter how many times they fell, they were determined to learn and kept getting up!

  Diaper Drive

Community Action Partnership of Orange County is partnering with HomeAid to collect diapers for low-income families.  Food stamps, WIC, and other government assistance programs do not provide diapers, leaving many local families struggling to afford them.

We will be collecting diapers on October 14th from 6 am - 6 pm at Orange Coast College:  2701 Fairview Rd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626
