We are excited to welcome  our new dietary team which is headed by Maria Davis our Dining Services Director. Maria comes to us with more than twenty years of dining experience.  I hope our residents and family members will find the change welcoming as we look forward to Maria and the team elevating the dining program for our residents in accordance with our mission and values at Madison Heights. 
                
Take Five with Maria:

What is your favorite food to eat?   Steak cooked medium with onions and mushrooms.

What is your favorite movie?   Life

What is your favorite past time?   Playing games on the internet like Toy Blast and puzzles.  Spending time with my first grandchild, Aiden, who is one month old.

What is your favorite thing about Madison Heights so far?   The residents - they are very entertaining and there is something new and unexpected every day.

What are you most excited about in your new position at Madison Heights?   Bringing something new to the residents and watching them enjoy food.  I like making people happy when they eat!

Life History
We love hearing our residents' stories and learning more about their past through memory sharing and pictures.  Many of our residents still take great pride in their past accomplishments and relationships.  
We would like the opportunity to highlight these memories and make a recognizable piece to hang outside each resident's door.  We will provide a collage frame that will hold three 5x7 LANDSCAPE ORIENTED photos or cut outs. 
Please see Kelly or Marcus when you are ready to fill a frame for your loved one.

Support Group

Join us on the THIRD THURSDAY of each month at 2:00 for Support Group!   We meet at The Alzheimer's Association, located at 106  SRP Drive, Evans, GA.

All family members or caregivers of someone with a dementia diagnosis are welcome to attend.  Don't forget to invite others who you think would benefit from additional support.

These reviews will help boost our placement to the top of the list and make us easier to find for others that are searching for a Memory Care Community for a friend or loved one. Friendly Reminders
  • We would appreciate your help in making sure that all important documents and bills are being sent to the responsible party, and not Madison Heights. 
  • We all work together to keep Madison Heights clean.  When you visit it would be appreciated it you would dispose of cigarette butts somewhere other than on the property grounds.  
Medical Information
Dental Visits
Dr. Spicer will be seeing residents at Madison Heights for oral care.  To have your loved one seen during the next visit please contact Christen Willcox.

Podiatry Visits
The podiatrist will be visiting Madison Heights every other month.  His next visit will be on Wednesday, August 23.  To make an appointment for your family member, contact Christen.

Medical Reminders
The Madison Heights vehicle will be available on Tuesdays  to help assist residents to medical appointments. 
Please speak with Christen at least two weeks in advance if you would like to utilize this service to ensure that the vehicle is available during your requested appointment time.

Age: 93
About Joyce: Joyce was a teacher and enjoys helping with bulletin boards and window decorations in her building. Joyce has a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the glee club at Stetson University.  She still enjoys singing - especially old gospel hymns.    
Things that Make Joyce Smile: 
Joyce loves to relax with dessert or a coke.  She also loves reading her Bible and being around children. More than anything else in this world, Joyce enjoys spending quality time with her family, which includes two daughters and numerous grand and great grand children.

Associate of the Month

Congratulations to Chantel, our Associate of the Month!


Chantel was chosen as Associate of the Month because she
always finds the positive in any situation, she has a big heart and she goes above and beyond.  She is also great with house keeping and works hard to keep the residents busy with activities. 

Chantel says that what she loves most about Madison Heights is talking to the residents and learning about their history.  
Spotlight Volunteers
This month's Spotlight Volunteer is the Grace Baptist Church Youth Group!  During the summer this amazing group spends their Thursday mornings at numerous locations around Augusta volunteering in a variety of ways. We are thankful that they spend many Thursday mornings with us over the summer.

At a young age I watched my great grandfather's journey through Alzheimer's and was amazed at the patience and love each caregiver had for him. As I got older my love for caring for the elderly grew.
