About Dr. Tom Necela & The Strategic Chiropractor
The Strategic Chiropractor is a consulting firm founded by Dr. Tom Necela to fill a void in chiropractic by teaching principles of proper billing, coding, documentation and collections along with sound business management strategies. In this way, The Strategic Chiropractor programs assist chiropractors to work SMARTER, not harder, on their practice - for increased profitability.
Dr. Necela typically consults with clients who are seeking ways to maximize their income and minimize their exposure to audits utilizing his experience both as a practicing chiropractor and a former Insurance Claims Analyst. Dr. Necela is also a Certified Professional Coder, a Certified Compliance Professional, a member of the American Medical Billers Association, the Health Care Compliance Association and the Association for Health Care Auditors and Educators.
In 2009, Dr. Necela also became the first chiropractor to ever to achieve Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) status as offered by the National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialists. The CPMA program is the only certified curriculum that teaches coding and insurance professionals how to audit and document medical charts according to CPT guidelines developed by the AMA and Medicare's 1995 and 1997 E/M Guidelines.
In addition to consulting and private practice, Dr. Necela is a popular speaker that lectures nationally on strategies for proper chiropractic billing, coding, documentation, collections and sound business management. He is also author of Beyond Back Pain, a contributing writer to Dynamic Chiropractic magazine and creator of numerous books and products that serve the chiropractic profession.
