May Holiday and Summer Hours 
Sunday hours at the main library, and Saturday hours at the Farms branch, will end for the season as of Memorial Day weekend (May 28 through May 30, 2016). The final Sunday that the main library will be open is May 22, and the final Farms Saturday will be May 21. Extended weekend hours will resume in the fall. 

Both libraries will be closed on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. The main library will also be closed Saturday, May 28.
Save the Date! Spring Book Sale

It's time to stock up for your summer beach reads with our amazing Spring Book Sale bargains! The sale runs for 9 days during regular library hours. Kids' books are now only .50 each (2 / $1); paperbacks are $1, and hardcovers $2. For the price of one new print or ebook, you can take home an entire bag of great reading. A smaller selection of music and movies will also be available. All proceeds benefit the library.  
Friends' Spring Book Sale Preview

Friday, May 6
6 - 8 PM, Main Library
Members of the Friends of the Beverly Public Library are invited to preview our annual Friends’ Spring Book Sale on Friday, May 6. Not yet a member of the Friends? No problem! You can join (or renew) at the door. It’s a wonderful chance to socialize and seek books in a relaxed setting. Family friendly! Cash and personal checks accepted. All sale proceeds benefit the library. 
Borrow a Mobile Hotspot
The main library now offers T-Mobile 4G mobile hotspots that allow patrons to access high-speed internet service anywhere a cell phone signal can be received. Up to 10 devices can be connected, with unlimited data. Hotspots may be borrowed for 7 days, with up to two renewals available if no other patrons are waiting. Read more here. 
Get Creative with Old Books!

Saturday, May 21

Break out the scissors and the hot glue guns! Join us in making paper garlands, turning old books into something new.  No talent or experience necessary. For adults and young adults 14 and up (tools/supplies not appropriate for children). Free; no registration required. Handicapped accessible. Light refreshments included. Questions? Spring Genealogy Series: Final Session

Join us for the final program of our spring genealogy series. This program will consist of an in-depth look at HeritageQuest and MyHeritage, two of the many subscription sites that are available through the library. Free; no registration required. Intro to 3D Printing

Learn the basics of working with the library's 3D printer Makerbot, and simple download and design using Thingiverse, Tinkercad and SketchUp. The workshop is required if you wish to use the 3D printer independently. No previous experience is needed to attend the workshop. Open to age 10 +. Laptops/devices are welcome. Questions? "Autism Awareness through Art"
Sohier Room, May 2 through May 30
Art Reception: Thursday, May 19 from 6:30 - 8 PM (public welcome)
Beverly High School senior Kira Kennedy presents "Autism Awareness through Art," featuring art work from preschool children who attend Futures, a behavior therapy center in Beverly that provides Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to children who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Part of Ms. Kennedy's Gold Award project for Girl Scouts, the art project is displayed with the goal of spreading Autism Awareness throughout the community. Free and open to the public during regular library hours, when library programs or community meetings are not in progress.
