New Allegheny General Concussion Test has Good Results

A preliminary study was conducted at New Allegheny General Hospital to test the effectiveness of a new concussion identifying device. The early results were promising, with the device accurately detecting 100 percent of the concussions present in participating athletes (10 concussions out of 292 athletes). Researchers say much more testing is needed before any conclusions can be drawn.

Purdue, IU Research Gives New Look at Concussions

Graduate students at Purdue are studying the countless, seemingly harmless hits to the head that football players endure throughout the course of a game. Tests done before, during, and after the season have shown small changes in brain function, even in players who have not sustained a concussion.
