CI receives national award for its 2025 Vision Plan

A long term growth plan for  CSU Channel Islands has earned the University a major award from the American Association of University Administrators (AAUA).  Called the "CI 2025 Vision Plan: Envisioning Our Future," the multi-layered growth plan is designed to meet the needs of a student population that is expected to more than double in the next 10 years from about 5,000 full-time students in 2015 to more than 10,000 in 2025. Library Lecture Series

CI invites the public to sample the compelling work and presentations of its faculty in a free lecture series at libraries in Camarillo, Newbury Park, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura and at the Channel Islands Boating Center at Channel Islands Harbor, Oxnard. The lecture series offers community members the opportunity to hear from some of CI's most dynamic speakers and experts; engage in discussions on a variety of timely, thought-provoking topics; and be a CI student for an evening in a free, convenient community location. Alumni, remember how stressful finals were?Tests, papers, and pulling all-nighters. What better way to relieve some of that stress than to hear from someone who has been through it. Share your words of encouragement, advise, or positive thoughts for current CI students. You can share a positive quote, a funny story, or simply wish them the good luck on all their finals. Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator
El Centrito Family Learning Centers, AmeriCorps VISTA, Oxnard, CA

El Centrito Family Learning Centers is looking for an outgoing professional interested in community outreach and building partnerships committed to supporting pathways to STEM careers that help to fill Ventura County's job-skills gap. The Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator must be interested in project management and have skills in group facilitation and training. Our ideal candidate must be at least 18 years old, a US citizen/national/legal resident, pass a criminal background check, and be available for full time 12 month commitment. Senior Program Manager
Human Services Agency, The County of Ventura

Under general direction of Deputy Director, provides senior management of a major program operation. Major programs include: Homeless Services, RAIN Transitional Living Center, Veteran Services, and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) under the Ventura County Continuum of Care and general administration and operations for the Adults and Family Services Division. The HSA Senior Program Manager focuses on full management responsibility for strategy, planning, implementation, and evaluation of line operations and service delivery for the Adults and Family Services Department. The Senior Manager may be called upon to represent the Agency and the Department on the Deputy Director's behalf in a variety of community forums and before the Board of Supervisors. In the absence of the Deputy Director, the Senior Manager provides leadership and support for the agency-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in a related discipline, and possess strong analytical and strategic planning abilities, organizational change management and project management skills and experience. The ideal candidate will also have extensive social services program management (to include direct client service delivery) and full-scope management experience within a governmental human service delivery system, and proven team leadership ability. Additionally, experience managing grant-funded programs and monitoring program performance are desired.
