A big thank you to everyone who came out for last week's Community Safety Meeting! There was a lot of great discussion about ways we as neighbors can work together to both prevent and effectively report crime in our part of town.
Joined by Officer Robin Nave, we heard the results of APD's survey of the Sand Lake area that was conducted earlier this year. APD received more responses from our community council area than any other in Anchorage (great job, everyone!). The results were very informative, and I am working with APD on sharing those with the neighborhood soon. These are tips everyone should know, even if they couldn't make the meeting!
Glenn Yancha of the Bayshore/Klatt Community Patrol also joined us, sharing valuable insights about how the community patrol effort in his area has made a positive difference. If you would like to see a community patrol in our area, we need volunteers! Please contact my office if you're interested in getting involved, and we'll point you in the right direction.
