CHORRO STREET CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

In an effort to expedite the Chorro Street Construction Project, working hours of the contracted workers will be extended to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 16.    By extending the working hours until 6:00 pm these two days, it should allow the contractors to consolidate the most disruptive aspects of the project into this time frame and allow businesses to return to normal operating hours.  We will provide additional information as soon as it is made available.

Public works professionals include those who manage water and wastewater systems, streets, parks, trees, public transportation and parking operations--in addtion to those who maintain public buildings and vehicles, and engineers and inspectors who manage capital improvements.  They are the people who maintain and improve the systems and services vital to a community's health and comfort.

Local activities schduled for National Public Works Week include a proclamation presentation by Mayor Jan Marx.  Public Works representatives from local City and County agencies displaying equipment and information at Thursday Night Promotions Farmers' Market on Thursday, May 24th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
