CONCERTS IN THE PLAZA
 2012 Concerts Poster

The sounds of summer in Downtown SLO officially kick off this Friday, June 1 as Concerts in the Plaza starts its annual series. Sponsored by Sunset Honda, this year's 14-week event is sure to please crowds with the finest of local talented musicians playing from 5:30 - 7:30 PM every Friday until August 31 in the heart of Downtown, Mission Plaza.

Heralded as THE premiere concert series on the Central Coast, Concerts in the Plaza is now in its 17th year and features musical genres across the spectrum from reggae to rock, country to blues, soul, Afro-Caribbean and more. Thousands attend each summer to dance, enjoy music and the setting with family and friends, wind down after work or just have a great time.

Continuing our tradition of pursuing excellent quality in staging events, we will once again proudly pour award-winning Firestone Walker beers and Edna Valley wines. This year we are excited to announce the addition of an on-site pizza oven where Palazzo Giuseppe's expert pizza makers will be providing fresh-baked pies for a tasty treat.

Downtown businesses are reminded that this event attracts an incredible amount of foot traffic and are urged to take advantage of the promotional opportunities it provides by keeping later hours, offering in store specials and tying in to the promotion.

MARSH STREET COMMONS UPDATE

Have you recently noticed the changing landscape of Downtown San Luis Obispo?  A major project is underway on the corner of Nipomo and Marsh streets that will add over 8,000 square feet of retail space and residential lofts in the core of our beautiful Downtown.  Marsh Street Commons provided by Mangano Homes began development of the property in early May with an anticipated completion in the Winter of 2013.  This project will enhance the transformation of the 'west side" of Downtown and create an amazing neighborhood of multi-use living.  Take a look at the conceptual video of Marsh Street Commons or visit their website at Marsh Street Commons.
