"In three months' time, we'll begin to make Thanksgiving preparations! Holiday feasts require plenty of planning: the menu, the guest list, the table setting, the wine, the pies and desserts, plus asking someone to pray over the food. But after all the planning and feasting, in a few hours' time, our tummies growl, empty again, ready to be filled. Jesus knows our human hunger; in the first-century, as Jesus roamed the Middle East teaching and preaching, 90% of the population starved. But Jesus promises us that if we will heed his teachings and accept him as the true Bread of Life, we will never be hungry again. Jesus gives himself as bread for the world, sacrificing his life on the cross so that God will forgive all people, for Jesus' sake. Thanks be to God for Jesus, our Living Bread from Heaven."
John 6:35; 41-51
