The Vigon Social

On Friday, February 21st, the second "Vigon Social" was

held at The Yard of Ale in Stroudsburg. A great variety of food and drinks were served, and like the last social, the pool table was a particularly popular spot. This event was a great way for employees new and old to get to know each other on a more personal level, and we're all looking forward to the next event.

Company News
HMI Software

Vigon is now using a new operator/machine interface powered by Parker InteractX Windows based Supervisory HMI Software. This system allows operators to monitor the temperature and vacuum for all the stills and reactors in R&D, along with the differential pressure for three particular stills. In addition to monitoring still performance, operators can control the distillation process on two of the stills utilizing a Parker interface with a PLC.

Not only are the stills/reactors being controlled by the new software, but the extractor and room environment of Building 1 are also controlled and monitored by the new HMI software. As part of our ongoing efforts in process improvement, the remaining process equipment will be included in the monitoring, along with the heating, ventilation, and plant utilities.
