Volunteer Fair
We are proud to partner with United Way Durham Region and the DRPS Victim Services of Durham Region to host a Volunteer Fair at the library to highlight organizations with volunteer opportunities in north Durham .

The Volunteer Fair provides an opportunity for anyone seeking volunteer experience  - Students, Adults & Seniors—to connect with community organizations who can use your help and skills!

North Durham Nature
Anne Barbour of the Kawartha Field Naturalists  presents: Kawartha Lakes Floral Project

When: Thursday May 25th from 7 pm to 9 pm  

Kawartha Lakes Field Naturalists have undertaken a major project to document the complete flora of the extensive Municipality of Kawartha Lakes.  Anne will talk about the details of this five-year project, highlighting some of the discoveries and interesting plant habitats in Kawartha Lakes.

English Conversation Circles
We are pleased to partner with Community Development Council Durham to offer an English Conversation Circle at the library.  Conversation Circles gives Newcomers an opportunity to practice their English Conversation Skills in a comfortable, welcoming environment. They learn about Canadian culture with the help of Community Connections volunteers. Newcomers from all over the world and with a variety of language abilities come together to discuss a variety of topics, have questions answered, share stories, and so much more!
