An urgent alert from Iowa CCI >>>

Dear Friend,

It's so disappointing.

Hold big banks accountable.Iowans have always thought of Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller as a tough-as-nails investigator for cracking down on cheats and frauds. That's why we were excited when he was named lead investigator into the mortgage and foreclosure practices of the nation's biggest banks last fall.

We were excited when, in a room full of CCI members and homeowners from across the country, Miller said he was going to "put people in jail" for causing the greatest financial disaster in modern history. He was going to find real solutions to fix this mess, keep people in their homes, and start getting the economy back on track.

But Tuesday, we were shocked to hear he kicked New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman off of his foreclosure fraud investigating team. Schneiderman has been leading the push among all the states' attorneys general for the strongest settlement possible. He has steadfastly refused to grant the big banks immunity for the damage they caused and it appears he was punished for his tough stand.

His dismissal means that the loudest voice at the table calling for real reform is gone.

I'm asking you to send a message to Miller right now. Ask him which side he's on - the people's or the banks'.

This news is a huge blow to those of us who expected great things from this investigation--and from our Attorney General--and we need Miller to reverse course immediately. This investigation is hugely important as it is the only investigation into big banks' mortgage and foreclosure practices since they caused the economic crash in 2008 that still devastates millions of hard working families. It's too important to let Miller cave to the big banks.

Please take five minutes to email Tom Miller today. Tell him not to give an inch of ground to the big banks. Tell him that instead of getting rid of people who stand up to the big banks, he should be working more closely with them. And tell him, like Schneiderman did, that he must not grant immunity to the banks in a settlement.

Tell him to be the Tom Miller we thought we knew - a people's champion - not a corporate hack.

Thank you,
