the Stella Maris Academy community prepares lifelong learners who lead, love, and serve as Jesus taught -
transforming our world one student at a time.
Weekly Update: May 19,2017
"I got the call from Bishop Sirba on a Wednesday evening. I was just heading to the chapel to pray evening prayer. The phone call was about coming to Duluth to be a pastor there. After getting off the phone I went and prayed."
"There were three strong movements of the Spirit in my heart; the first was of my affection and gratitude for the people in Crosslake and Emily (where I am currently serving), the second was a desire to pray with the people of the parishes God is leading me to journey with next, and the third was an excited joy in my heart to be with the families of Stella Maris! Can't wait for the Fall! Know of my daily prayers for all of you. May God bless you and may Jesus Christ be praised!"

Transportation Update-Parent Action Required
To assist with planning and details regarding transportation for 2017-2018, all parents are asked to complete the transportation form indicating their preferred method of transportation for next school year. This information provided by enrolled families will be used to determine routes, the possibility of inter-campus shuttle, and the determination of school start and end times. The form is available on the parent portal for each campus. A completed form for each enrolled student is due on Friday, May 26.
Calling All Parent Partners and Extraordinary Volunteers
The communities of St. Michael's, Holy Rosary, St. James, and St. John's include dedicated and highly talented parents who generously give of their time to support and serve our students, teachers, and families. The process of creating and planning for the future parent organization of Stella Maris Academy is now in the works!
The direction is to build on the long-held tradition of parent involvement and partnership in supporting the dedicated teachers, enhancing the classroom, and building community. In 2017-2018, each campus will have its own parent organization board led by a team of officers. In addition, the chair and the vice chair from each campus board will then serve on an executive board that will work directly with the new president of Stella Maris Academy.
Interested in serving in a leadership capacity on any of the three parent boards? Contact Jennifer Deming. The parent organization board will be gathering this spring to determine a name for the parent organization, finalize a structure, and define the purpose and duties.
