Whats New?

Where is the time going?! With party season looming we're all on the pre Christmas fitness kick here at the Engine Room - luckily enough we have some GREAT classes and some BRAND NEW kit for everyone to try out!

BRAND NEW Core Area:  

We've had a lot of work done at the gym recently, we have a new core area for peeps to stretch and work their core. Stretching is thoroughly underrated and can help from everything from flexibility to joint and back pain, it really shouldn't be as ignored and should be part of your weekly program! There are two brand spanking new bits of kit in there:- Core Trainer and pull-up trainer. If you're not sure what a core trainer is take a look:

strengthens the abdominals while engaging the entire core it helps enhance basic stability for beginners while providing advanced strengthening for those looking to tone their abs and obliques! It really is our fave new toy!!

 

HIIT training, whats it all about?:

  

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), is a form of interval training, designed to get the most from your workout in shorter periods of time - GREAT for those pushed for time! It alternates periods of short intense exercise with less-intense recovery periods or rest. The design of the program means that, contrary to popular belief, you don't have to spend hours on a treadmill to burn fat - the short intense bursts mean that there is an increase in your resting metabolic rate meaning you burn fat AFTER the class as well as during!  

Like the sound of that?  

METAFIT HIIT  Tues morning 10-10.30am and Thursday evening 7.40-8.15pm.  

 

Body Blast 6:   

 

Monday 6-7pm, with Tom Parry a sports performance and conditioning coach.
An hour long circuit designed to blast the whole body to help with fat loss, muscular strength, endurance and body tonning. Following a HIIT (high intensity interval training) protocol it will help improve your cardiovascular endurance along with muscle tone and mass. Come along and blast your body into shape!


Move Fitness Success Stories:     

 

A huge well done to move fitness clients Louise Brooks and Kate Idle, who have both achieved some amazing results. In only four weeks Kate and Lou have dropped a combined weight of 5kg (11lbs) , they have lost a massive 7.2 inches from their waist/ hip ratios and have both dropped body fat by 1.6/2.4% ! Having made some massive changes to their diets and working incredibly hard in the gym, results have come quick and good for both . Once again a huge well done . Here is to the next step of well being.
