Wheaton Redevelopment Meeting

The Montgomery County Government is inviting the community to a meeting with
StonebridgeCarras/Bozzuto, the selected developer for the Wheaton Redevelopment Program. At the meeting, the proposed development plan will be shared along with details on the scope of their project and ideas for design. The County would like the community's feedback as preparations begin for the development of a contract with the developer. Questions? 2. Historic Preservation Commission Public Hearing for the Preservation of the Wheaton Youth Center will be on Sept 11, 2013, 7:30pm at 8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. This first meeting to consider the potential preservation of the center will give residents and interested parties a chance to weigh in on the future of this building. 5. Bike for the Reserve Farm Tour: September 29th
Hosted by Potomac Pedalers bike club, the Tour takes riders along the Reserve's rustic roads culminating in a catered picnic at Kingsbury's Orchard sponsored by Whole Foods Market. Volunteers will be available to bring your orchard purchases back to your vehicle. The ride is free and open to all bikers, the picnic is $12. Please click here for more information and to register.

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR RESIDENTS:
1. September is Library Card Sign Up Month and Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) encourages residents of all ages who don't have a card to stop by any MCPL branch and sign up. Each person who signs up for a new card will receive a special gift. For more information, please go to the MCPL website.

4. NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF FY15 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTS (CDBG) PUBLIC SERVICE FUNDING: The application for FY15 CDBG public service funding is now available online. The application deadline is Monday, September 23, 2013 at 4:00 pm.
