FIND WALDO LOCAL -- SCAVENGER HUNT!
July 5 -- July 31, 2016
--
Sponsored by The Regulator Bookshop and Sustain-a-Bull
Waldo returns to support Durham's Shop Local Movement!
Where's Waldo? He's in Durham, of course! After a year away exploring seas unknown, Waldo will be back in Durham this July! The famous children's book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting thirty-six different local business in our community this July. Those who spot him can win prizes, including buttons, book coupons, gift certificates and more.
The hunt starts July 5th! Pick up your FIND WALDO LOCAL Passport here at The Regulator and go find Waldo and qualify for prizes.
Visit participating businesses through the end of July and get your passport stamped or signed for each Waldo you spot. Then bring your stamped passport on July 31 to The Regulator for a party! We'll have a big Waldo shindig with raffle prizes donated by local businesses, snacks, family fun activities, a costume party, and more. Come dressed as Waldo and join the fun!
From Elmo's Diner to Bull City Craft, from Morgan Imports to Bull City Running, from Cocoa Cinnamon-- to Cozy-- to NOSH, Waldo figures will be hidden in local business establishments all over town. You might find him atop a cash register, on a shelf, or peeking out of a shirt pocket! Spot WALDO at each stop and get your passport stamped.
The first 100 Waldo seekers who get their passports stamped or signed at fifteen or more sites can bring their passports back to The Regulator Bookshop to collect prizes. Collecting store stamps or signatures at twenty-five or more businesses will entitle diligent seekers to enter in a grand prize drawing on July 31, with the top prize being a multi-volume deluxe set of Waldo books. Other prizes include gift-certificates to local businesses, exercise class passes, a ukulele from High Strung Violins & Guitars, and other specialty items selected by local merchants for the event.
The July 31 "Wrap Party" starts at 3:00 PM at The Regulator Bookshop (720 9th St., Durham, NC) with food, prizes, family-friendly activities, a costume party, and more!
