Humane Education Program
The Humane Society of Greater Miami teaches the young and old appropriate lessons about kindness to animals, empathy, responsible pet care and the causes and results of pet overpopulation. "So far, 2012 was a very successful year. We have educated 802 adults and 8,732 children for a total of 9,534 people and it is only June!" said Lisa DePriest, our humane educator.

ASPCA partnership
Thanks to the generosity of the ASPCA ® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), our Humane Society has received several grants which will help fulfill our mission in a variety of ways related to SECOND CHANCE FUND, SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES, CLINIC EXPANSION, VACCINES SAFETY NET PROGRAM, MEGA MATCH-A-THON & SHELTER OPERATIONS TRAINING. Hurricane Preparedness
June 1st through November 30th is hurricane season and the Humane Society of Greater Miami urges you to prepare now in the event that you will have to evacuate your home because of a storm. It is important for you to plan now to avoid last minute surprise and confusion when a storm is approaching. We offer you a free hurricane guide containing disaster preparedness tips and information about the two pet-friendly evacuation shelters for people offered by Miami-Dade County.
