October 5, 2013 Nebraska vs. Illinois Please join us at one of our many watch sites and friendly sites on Saturday, October 5, 2013, when Nebraska plays against Illinois at Memorial Stadium for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM Mtn time with the game airing on ESPN. Many sites will open at 9:00 AM with a few at 9:30. Call to check when your location is opening if you don't see it listed.

Letter from Scholarship Recipient Hilary Lengel Hello my fellow CFN-ers!
Happy fall! I can't believe the middle of the semester is already upon us. First, I would just like to thank this community for their support and help on this journey through college. This is my fourth and unfortunately final year of receiving this award, and I am pleased to say that it has got me through so much. I am majoring in elementary education, so this semester I have had the privilege of student teaching in a fourth grade classroom in McCook, and I love it. This is everything I have been waiting for. The students are amazing, and the work is hard, and takes so much, but the results are absolutely worth it. Teaching has got to be one of the most rewarding jobs on the planet and I am thankful for the education I received while in Nebraska that has allowed me to come this far. I had one little girl tell me, "it's okay if you're mean to us because you're beautiful." Now I'm not sure how far being mean would go with the principal, but the being beautiful sure went a long way with me. I want to wake up in the morning and go to my classroom, and I know I couldn't have been better prepared than through my classes at UNK. I'm proud to say I'm living with a family in McCook that fully supports the Huskers, so game days are far from boring in this house, and I'm pretty sure I've accumulated even more red clothing than before. Gooooo Huskers!
Thank you again for all of your support over the years. I really feel like I wouldn't be where I am without you guys!

Husker Games on the Radio
Huskers will be on the Radio for 2013 - 1060 KRCN (formerly KLMO). There will be two hours of local "College Gameday" style show before joining the network for one hour of pregame. There will also be extended post game coverage as well.
Some games will also air on AM 1580 in Colorado Springs. Currently, the Huskers will be on for the Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa games. As more kick off times are announced, additional games may be added to the Colorado Springs Station.

Football Friday in Lincoln
The Nebraska Alumni Association's traditional Football Fridays is now in Lincoln's exciting new entertainment district in the historic Haymarket. Join NAA at The Railyard, just southeast of Pinnacle Bank Arena, at 5 p.m. on the day before each home football game (except Iowa) for appearances by former players and the Husker Spirit Squad and pep band, some Sports Nightly live broadcasts, music, children's activities and more. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win football tickets, Nebraska Champions Club passes and Husker memorabilia.
About Football Fridays
Dates: Every Friday before 2013 Nebraska football home games (except Iowa)
Time: 5 pm.
Where: The Railyard - 350 Canopy Street, Lincoln, 68508.
Admission: FREE. Food and drinks available for purchase at surrounding restaurants.
Parking: Available (for a fee) at garages on Arena Drive and R Street, or at meters on adjacent streets.
2013 marks the fifth year the NAA has hosted Football Fridays. More than 2,500 alumni and fans from 36 states attended the events at the Nebraska Champions Club last season.
