It'll be a Silent Film Extravaganza at Mechanics Hall on Wednesday, April 11th with the showing of A Trip to the Moon (1902), as seen in the recent Academy Award blockbuster Hugo, brilliantly accompanied (silent-film-style) by Peter Krasinksi on the hall's magnificent Worcester Organ. In the movie a group of astronomers set out to study earth's moon by flying there in a ship shot form a cannon, only to be assaulted by evil moon men. Worcester Windows is Taking it to the Street! Curated by Worcester State University alums Howard McGinn and Anne Seuthe, the newest exhibition of the Worcester Windows Community Gallery program will open on Thursday, April 12th with a reception at The Hanover Theatre. Worcester artist Terri Priest will open the event with a brief talk, followed by walking tours of the downtown gallery footprint encompassing the works of some 36 artists in painting, sculpture, drawing and photography, including a new photography exhibit, The People of Worcester County in the City Hall Gallery.
