Dear Fellow Dallas County Democrat:
Throughout my years of fundraising for a wide range of community organizations, I am often asked by prospective donors: "What have your own board members donated?" and/or "How many board members volunteer for the organization?" When the organizers of a group are committed themselves, it increases a prospective donor's faith in the organization and its ability to accomplish its goals.
The Dallas County Democratic Party ("DCDP") is no exception. Because we believe in the Party, my husband and I have been sustaining members of the DCDP for many years, and we recently renewed our sustaining membership for 2016. We are not alone. The DCDP has many generous donors who help finance the activities of our local Democratic Party. Since I became your DCDP Chair 5 months ago, local Democrats have donated over $100,000 to the DCDP.
Volunteering is also critical. There is nothing more powerful to create ties with our voters than a knock on their door, or a phone call, from a dedicated volunteer. There are so many tasks for which volunteers are needed, including event organization, voter registration, field work, office administration and Party representation at meetings and events of clubs and other community organizations throughout the county.
This Party matters to us all, and I ask everyone to demonstrate their support by giving their time and/or money to sustain the Party and keep Dallas County blue. How can you help? Let me count the ways:
GET IN THE GAME FOR 2016!
We have a critical Presidential Election coming up, as well as competitive House District and other races in Dallas County. Let's get in the game together! We need all hands on deck. These races need our attention as donors and/or volunteers.
BECOME A SUSTAINING MEMBER:
One of the best ways we can keep the DCDP strong is to increase the ranks of our sustaining members. Payments can be made in one lump sum or by a pledge of monthly payments. I am asking each of you to invest in the DCDP, as you are able, by becoming or renewing as a Sustaining Member. Donations at any level will be appreciated. Sustaining membership levels range from $10 per month to $200 per month, and each level comes with donor gifts suitable for "re-gifting" for the holidays.
