"In 1912 the Gramercy Park Association was organized by residents and others interested to preserve and maintain the residential character of the neighborhood of Gramercy Park and to promote the interests and comfort of the property owners and residents of the neighborhood."

It is the Gramercy Park Block Association that now continues this mission.

Tree and Shrub Maintenance - Park Closed

Today Bartlett Tree Experts are in the Park for deep root fertilization on the shrubbery.

They are air spading the roots and balancing the soil around the magnolia tree near the shed, and have widened the area around the tree by 3'. The tree is stressed but the roots are alive. Hopefully the tree will be saved.

They will also select five trees and expose the root flare. Tomorrow they will deep fertilize the lawns.

Whenever there are trucks in the Park during work projects, the Park will be closed.
