We would like to thank all of the parents who were able to join us this week for "Breakfast with Dads". We had a wonderful turnout. I know the students were very excited. We know how important the role of the father is in the family. Thank you for taking the time to come to White Lick for a special breakfast with your child. A big thank you to Wanda Frame for chairing this event. We also want to extend a thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped make the event such a success. We will have our "Mornings with Moms" event in the spring.
Today we had a surprise visit from the cast of Peter Pan from Brownsburg High School. They roamed the halls and visited classrooms looking for pirates and Peter Pan. Students were very excited and engaged with the performers. This is a great show for children of all ages. If you are interested in attending the performance, it will be held at BHS on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 at 7:00 PM and Oct. 10 at 2:00 and 8:00 PM. Visit the BHS Performing Arts Office or contact Angie Boyer at 852-2258, ext. 1826 for tickets. Tickets are on sale now for $10.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Conferences are coming up next week. We would like to encourage every parent to participate in their child's parent-teacher conference. Our goal is to have 100% participation. This is a great opportunity to learn how your child is doing in school and how to best support your learner this year at home. We want to partner with you to help your child grow academically as well as socially. We appreciate your collaboration and support.
Crayola ColorCycle
- Did you know that our OLD markers can be turned into energy? We are going to start collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded.
We will be collecting any used markers/dry-erase/highlighters- even non-Crayola brands. The markers will be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!
Searching for Old Soles:
We are gathering shoes for the Dominican Republic again this year. Last year White Lick families were amazing and collected 350 pairs of shoes and 30 soccer balls. We passed out shoes to Haitian immigrants that were in need. Shoes are required to attend school and many children often do not have a single pair. Any old sports equipment like soccer balls would also be appreciated. We will be collecting Sept. 28 - Oct. 9th. Boxes will be positioned in the office and near the music classroom. Thanks for your support!

White Lick Cares:
Next week we will be selling "White Lick Cares" bracelets to help support two of our former students, Carson Collins and Mary Jacobson, who currently attend BWMS. They are both battling some serious health issues and we would like to rally together to help support them emotionally as well as financially. Bracelets are going to be sold before school (8:30-8:45) and during parent-teacher conferences (4:30 - 8:00). Each bracelet is $2.00. All of the money raised will go directly to the families of Carson and Mary. We appreciate your support.
