We had a great week celebrating College Go Week. Students and s
taff enjoyed all of the dress up days and listening to various fight songs on the morning announcements. We hope your child enjoyed the week and learned something new about becoming a life-long learner and setting goals.
Step-a-thon:
Special annou
ncements were shared today with the students regarding our Step-a-thon during lunch. Again, we would like to thank all of the parents, grandparents, and neighbors for their support of the White Lick PTO. All of the money raised will go back to supporting our students and staff. Our PTO will be sharing information early next week with parents regarding the total amount of money raised and awards that were given to students, classes, and grade levels.
Breakfast with Dads:
We look forward to seeing lots of dads and grandfathers next week at White Lick enjoying a special breakfast. Our event will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday beginning at 8:00 AM.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Conferences are just around the corner. We would like to encourage every parent to participate in their child's parent-teacher conference. This is a great opportunity to learn how your child is doing in school and how to best support your learner this year at home. We want to partner with you to help your child grow academically as well as socially. We appreciate your collaboration and support.
Crayola ColorCycle
- Did you know that our OLD markers can be turned into energy? We are going to start collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded.
We will be collecting any used markers/dry-erase/highlighters- even non-Crayola brands. The markers will be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more! See the attachment for more details.
Searching for Old Soles:
We are gathering shoes for the Dominican Republic again this year. Last year White Lick families were amazing and collected 350 pairs of shoes and 30 soccer balls. We passed out shoes to Haitian immigrants that were in need. Shoes are required to attend school and many children often do not have a single pair. Any old sports equipment like soccer balls would also be appreciated. We will be collecting Sept. 28 - Oct. 9th. Boxes will be positioned in the office and near the music classroom. See the attached
flyer for additional information. Thanks for your support!
