Happy Friday! We had a great week! Today we had our Step-a-thon Pep session to get the students excited about our upcoming Step-a-thon which is happening next Friday. Students will have an opportunity to complete a great obstacle course during their assigned time. Students should wear gym appropriate tennis shoes, shorts and a coat of sunscreen. We want to encourage all students to get pledges for the Step-a-thon. This is our largest fundraiser which covers the cost of all field trips (off campus and on campus), holiday gifts for the classrooms, class supply reimbursement for every teacher and other initiatives that support White Lick students and staff. Our volunteers have already raised $3,550 from corporate sponsors. We are off to a great start! Every student and staff member will be given a Step-a-thon t-shirt next Friday for our event. The t-shirt will then be used throughout the school year to help identify our White Lick students at field trips, during homecoming, spirit days and for our end of the year Survivor Challenge. We want to remind students that they should be asking family and friends for the donations. We do not want students going door-to-door asking people that they do not know for donations.
Have a great long weekend!
Mrs. Susan Wise

Counselor's Character Corner
The character trait for the month of September is Responsibility. Responsibility means being accountable for what we say and do.

Did you know that the week of September 21-25 is College Go Week?  This is a week for students to be thinking of their plans for college and career success.  Our elementary students are on the road to college and there are many things they can do now to ensure a successful future. Throughout the week students will participate in activities to help them learn more about the importance of education and what they need to do to get accepted into college.

Yankee Candle Sale Begins September 11th
The 15th Annual Yankee Candle fundraiser for the Brownsburg Education Foundation (BEF) is around the corner.  On Friday, September 11th, each student will receive a catalog to share with family and friends. The best and easiest way to order is online and you will find the instructions for sending the link for online ordering to your family and friends in the packet. Online orders will be delivered directly to the one ordering by mail in 2-3 weeks. If the paper order form is used, the order form and money need to be returned by September 28th to Reagan. You will have to pick up and distribute anything ordered using the paper order form on November 10th & 11th at the BCSC Maintenance Facility at 550 Airport Road.  Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward teacher educational grants and student scholarships that are given out each year by the BEF whose mission is to encourage and support creativity, innovation, and excellence that will enhance the educational community of the Brownsburg Community School Corporation.
